Square Enix officially confirms Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition production cancellation

Things are not looking particularly great for Final Fantasy XV as Square Enix announced that the team behind it, Luminous Productions, has started focusing on creating a new game. Not only that, but three of the four planned DLCs have been officially cancelled and Hajime Tabata has left the team, meaning that Luminous Productions will stop developing content for Final Fantasy XV. New Final Fantasy XV patch implements TERRA WARS event quest, adjusts 4K Resolution pack

Square Enix has released a brand new update for Final Fantasy XV. According to the release notes, this patch will introduce an Info menu on the title screen, implement the TERRA WARS event quest, and add pieces from TERRA WARS, Tomb Raider, and DJ NOBUNAGA to music player tracklist. As we’ve already stated, the first third-party benchmarks for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080Ti have surfaced, however I believe that we should focus on some triple-A games that cannot run with 60fps in 4K. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080Ti and RTX 2080 are faster by 33% and 6% respectively than GTX1080Ti in Final Fantasy XV

It appears that reviewers are currently benchmarking the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080Ti and RTX 2080 graphics cards and the first leaks have surfaced. This first one comes from the official Final Fantasy XV Benchmark aggregator which shows the GeForce RTX 2080Ti and RTX 2080 outperforming the GeForce GTX 1080Ti by 33% and 6%, respectively. First NVIDIA GeForce RTX2080 gaming benchmarks revealed, 50% faster in some games than the GTX1080, almost 100% faster with DLSS

And the time most PC gamers have been waiting has just arrived. The first gaming benchmarks for NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX2080 have just been revealed. These benchmarks are coming straight from NVIDIA and put the RTX2080 against the GTX1080. Confirmed: Final Fantasy XV, Serious Sam 4, Mechwarrior 5, PUBG and more will support real-time ray tracing [UPDATE: Apparently not]

And it has been officially confirmed. Final Fantasy XV, Serious Sam 4, Mechwarrior 5, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, We Happy Few and more will support real-time ray tracing. As we’ve already reported, Final Fantasy XV will be supporting ray tracing via its new Vulkan renderer that will be added, though we don’t know how it will be using ray tracing.
