NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080Ti and RTX 2080 are faster by 33% and 6% respectively than GTX1080Ti in Final Fantasy XV

It appears that reviewers are currently benchmarking the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080Ti and RTX 2080 graphics cards and the first leaks have surfaced. This first one comes from the official Final Fantasy XV Benchmark aggregator which shows the GeForce RTX 2080Ti and RTX 2080 outperforming the GeForce GTX 1080Ti by 33% and 6%, respectively.

Going into more details, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080Ti was able to score 5897 points in the official Final Fantasy XV benchmark at 4K, and 10308 points at 1440p. On the other hand, the GeForce RTX 2080 scored 4691 points at 4K and 8171 points at 1440p.

The performance boost falls in line with everything we’ve heard so far about the GeForce RTX 2080Ti. While it’s not as impressive as NVIDIA’s percentages (which showed an overall 42% performance boost), it’s close to the 35% goal that NVIDIA claimed a while back.

Not only that, but these benchmarks are most likely without the Deep Learning Super Sampling technique that Final Fantasy XV will support in the near future. Square Enix will most likely implement support for DLSS via the Vulkan API so it will be interesting to see whether Vulkan will give any performance boost at all, and the performance improvements that DLSS will bring to the table!
