Super Smash Bros. Ultimate feature

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Unofficial PC Port Released

Right now, we already have unofficial PC ports of Super Smash Bros. and Super Smash Bros. Melee. And here comes another one. A few hours ago, the first public release of an unofficial PC port for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was released. So, if you are a big Super Smash fan, you should definitely check it out.

This unofficial PC port of Smash Bros. Ultimate supports 60FPS and resolutions up to 4K. It can also allow you to play with a keyboard or an XInput gamepad. Again, I’m really glad to see day-1 support for keyboard. The keyboard has keys for movement, attacks, shields, and other actions. You can also use the arrow keys to move and the I, J, K, and L keys for the right stick. The port can use the first XInput gamepad it finds.

What’s also cool is that the PC port can build shaders in the background. It also saves compiled shaders in a cache. This can help cut down on shader build times when you play again. However, shader issues and slow first-time builds may still occur.

Another cool feature is its Online/Multiplayer mode. Yes, you read that right. This unofficial PC port of Smash Bros. Ultimate supports online play.

WindowSmash, which is the name of this PC port, can relay the game’s Local Wireless traffic over the internet. One player hosts a room, and another joins it. Both players need the same game version and port build. This feature is still experimental, and full matches on two PCs have not been fully tested.

The project includes tools to set up game data, start the game, host or join a match, and unlock fighters. It also has tools for testing, game code checks, and performance checks.

Those interested can download the PC port from this link. Since this is the first public release, you should keep your expectations in check. You might encounter a number of bugs and glitches. So, consider this a beta release. Things will obviously get better with future updates.

As always, the PC port does not contain any in-game assets. To run it, you will need your own game files and firmware fonts. The game version that it’s compatible with it is version 11.0.0.

In case you are into projects like these, you can also download the unofficial PC ports of Mario Kart Wii, Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy, and Super Mario Strikers.

You can also play The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Majora’s Mask, Perfect Dark, Call of Duty 3, and Jak & Daxter.
