Xbox 360 fans, here is something for you. An unofficial PC version of the classic Japanese turn-based RPG, Lost Odyssey, has just been released.
For those who did not know, Lost Odyssey is a classic Japanese role-playing game, featuring turn-based combat. You control a party of heroes as they travel across a large fantasy world. The game mixes classic RPG systems with a few unique ideas.
Battles are turn-based, so you can take your time and choose your actions. You can attack, use magic, defend, or use special skills. You can also use items to heal your party or remove status effects.
The game has both mortal and immortal characters. Immortal characters can learn skills from other party members. They can also use these skills in battle without needing to equip them to another character. This gives you many ways to build your team.
Lost Odyssey also has a simple ring system. You can equip rings to boost your attacks with extra effects. During attacks, you must press a button at the right time. Good timing makes the attack stronger. This adds a small action element to the turn-based battles.
Party formation is also important. You can place your characters in different rows during battle. Front-row characters can protect weaker allies in the back row. This makes team setup important, especially during harder fights.
Outside of combat, you can explore towns, dungeons, and other areas. You can find items, complete side quests, and search for hidden treasures. There are also bosses that test your party and require you to use the right skills and tactics.
The PC version supports resolutions up to 4K. It also supports 30 and 60 FPS, something that will please a lot of people. There are also some basic graphics settings, like FXAA, SMAA, and High Filtering. From what I can see, it also supports both gamepads and the keyboard.
You can go ahead and download it from here. Do note that, as with all recompilations, it does not feature any in-game assets. In other words, you’ll have to provide your own ROM/ISO.
In case you are into projects like these, you can also download the unofficial PC ports of Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Crash Team Racing, and Duke Nukem: Zero Hour. You can also play The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, Perfect Dark, and Jak & Daxter.
Furthermore, Brian Tate has brought the three classic SNES Donkey Kong Country games to PC. For our SNES fans, we also have a PC port of Star Fox. And, since we’ve already gotten four SNES games, I’d really love to see a PC version of Jurassic Park with KB&M support and HD textures. Now that would be awesome.
And that’s not all of them. We also have the unofficial PC ports of Mario Party 4, Sonic Unleashed, GoldenEye 007, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Silent Hill, and Super Smash Bros 64. Last month, we shared the unofficial PC ports of Gears of War 2 and Syphon Filter. Earlier this month, we shared the PC ports of Diddy Kong Racing and Ace Combat 6. Let’s also not forget the unofficial PC versions of Wave Race 64, Blue Dragon, and Pikmin. Finally, you can download the PC ports of Spider-Man: Edge of Time, Tekken 3, Mario Kart Wii, and Pokemon Crystal.
Have fun!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
