Peter Jackson’s King Kong Xbox 360 feature

Peter Jackson’s King Kong Xbox 360 Version Gets an Unofficial Native PC Port

When Peter Jackson’s King Kong came out on PC in 2005, it was based on the old-gen PS2 version. That really frustrated me back then, as the Xbox 360 version looked and felt way better than what we got. But now, PC gamers can enjoy that “next-gen” version.

Now, I know that we also got a digital Gamer’s Edition for Peter Jackson’s King Kong. That version aimed to bring some of the graphical features of the X360 version to PC. However, that version wasn’t a perfect Xbox 360 equivalent. It had its own visual compromises, including missing facial animations, different character lighting, and vegetation rendering issues.

So, this unofficial PC port brings the Xbox 360 version of Peter Jackson’s King Kong to PC with several useful features.

You can render the game at up to 8K (7680×4320). Several presets are available, from Supersample to Ultra Performance, so you can pick the best setting for your PC.

The game runs at 30 FPS by default, just like the Xbox 360 version. However, you can also raise the frame rate to 240 FPS or remove the limit for smoother play.

The port also adds Xbox 360-style achievement pop-ups. You will see a pop-up and hear a sound when you unlock one of the game’s nine achievements. You can choose the sound in the launcher.

You can also change the controls to fit your needs. Options include camera inversion, camera speed, controller deadzone, button remapping, and vibration strength. The port also supports keyboard and mouse. Since this is an FPS, the inclusion of proper KB&M is a must-have feature.

What’s also crucial to note is that the entire game is now playable. On Xenia, it gets stuck right at the start of the first level and can’t be played. So, by default, this is the best way to play the Xbox 360 version.

You can go ahead and download the PC port from this link. As with most PC recompilations, it does not include any in-game assets. So, to run it, you’ll have to provide your own X360 ISO.

In case you are into unofficial PC ports of console-exclusive games, you might want to try the following ones. Right now, you can download the unofficial PC ports of Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Crash Team Racing, and Duke Nukem: Zero Hour. You can also play The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Majora’s Mask, Perfect Dark, and Jak & Daxter. Yesterday, I also shared an unofficial PC version of The Simpsons Game.

Furthermore, Brian Tate has brought the three classic SNES Donkey Kong Country games to PC. For our SNES fans, we also have a PC port of Star Fox. We also got a PC port of F-Zero. So, since we’ve already gotten a few SNES games, I’d really love to see a PC version of Jurassic Park with KB&M support and HD textures. Now that would be awesome.

In September 2026, we shared a lot of unofficial PC ports. So, you can download and enjoy on PC Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link,  WET, The Darkness, Spider-Man: Edge of Time, Mercenaries, GTA: Liberty City Stories, Fable 2, Burnout Revenge, Super Mario Strikers, and Lost Odyssey.

And that’s not all of them. We also have the unofficial PC ports of Mario Party 4, Sonic Unleashed, GoldenEye 007, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Silent Hill, and Super Smash Bros. 64. Last month, we shared the unofficial PC ports of Gears of War 2 and Syphon Filter. In August 2026, we shared the PC ports of Diddy Kong Racing and Ace Combat 6. Let’s also not forget the unofficial PC versions of Wave Race 64, Blue Dragon, and Pikmin.  Finally, you can download the PC ports of Ninja Gaiden 2, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Tekken 3, and Mario Kart Wii.
