Weekly CryEngine 3 Gallery [January 22nd – 28th]; LOTR’s Mordor comes to CryEngine 3

Okay, now that was unexpected. Mapper Chrome235 has revealed a screenshot that showcases how Mordor and LOTR would look like in CryEngine 3. This is basically an artwork – or a wallpaper – that borrows some assets from the movies. In other words, this is not a custom map. Still, it’s pretty amazing and makes us wish for a LOTR game, powered by Crytek’s engine. Alongside this shot, we bring you some new images from modders/mappers Tiesto, TheMagnumman357, chicken, rGOt, and ReVan1199. Enjoy! Behold, Alan Wake PC in all its 3D Surround glory

Alan Wake PC is almost a month away and Remedy has shared some 3D Surround screenshots from it. As stated some days ago, Alan Wake will be supporting Nvidia’s 3D Vision and – obviously – will also support its 3D Surround capabilities. And we seriously can’t wait to get our hands on it. According to Remedy, stereoscopic 3D will be performance heavy, therefore a high end GPU such as the GeForce 580GTX and moderate graphics settings are recommended. Enjoy the screenshots after the jump! Continue reading Behold, Alan Wake PC in all its 3D Surround glory

Surprise surprise; Quake comes to CryEngine 3 with Crysis 2 – E1M1 – The Slipgate Complex

Remember when we told you, earlier last week, that Duke Nukem 3D would be coming to CryEngine 3? Well, it seems that another classic game will also find its way to Crytek’s engine. Mapper ‘Cleric’ was working in a CryEngine 2 map that would be based on the first level of iD Software’s little gem, but hit many walls and never got very far due to various problems. With the release of CryEngine 3’s SDK, the mapper decided restart that project in Crysis 2 and released some new screenshots from it. Cleric is currently recreating the first level, but there is a possibility for more Quake maps. Enjoy! Weekly GTA IV Gallery [January 15th – 21st]

Last week, we concentrated on the car models that most modders are creating these days, so we think that it’s fair to dedicate this week’s gallery to GTA IV’s environments. And it’s really amazing how some custom ENBSeries settings can actually increase the game’s image fidelity. Thanks to the modders, GTA IV looks amazing and can – sometimes – achieve photorealistic visuals. Enjoy the following screenshots from GTA IV’s modders Simple999, King of K, DarK64, goobz, Lycan_182, legacyy, schakusa, Dpeasant3, KingNK, sly1286, and pramkies.
