The Metro 2033 movie is happening

I have played all the Metro games several times since release, and the second one is probably my favourite. Wandering the claustrophobic underground tunnels of the metro, beneath fallen Moscow, was and still is very entertaining. Unfortunately, I haven’t read the books yet, even if I do own the first one. Eventually I will, though, and definitely before its official movie hits the theatres. Yeap, you read that right; a Metro 2033 movie is actually happening.

CRYENGINE fans, today we bring you new shots from the works of modders crysis2thebest, darkchazz, Hynik, Maximum-Dev and ultranew_b. In addition, we’ve included some videos from modders USSR_GRAND and Hynik. The highlights of this week are Maximum-Dev’s images (especially the maps that were inspired by Battlefield and Metro 2033) and USSR_GRAND’s racing game that reminded us of Need For Speed (keep in mind that it’s still a WIP and yes, that DOF is overdone). Metro 2033 Will Get A New Fan Film, Teaser Trailer Released

Guillaume Heulard and his team are currently working on a fan film, based on 4A GAmes’ Metro 2033 game. This fan film is being written and directed by Guillaume Heulard, Guillaume Bodin is responsible for the VFX, Stephane Valette is behind its art direction and Adrien Volpi is composing its music. Metro 2033 was profitable; sold over one million copies on PC alone

Metro: Last Light is one of our most anticipated games of 2013. And even though we have not heard a lot about it, THQ’s Huw Beynon decided to talk a bit with AusGamers about it and its prequel. Huw Beynon admitted that Metro 2033 didn’t get the production support from THQ that could have raised the polish and quality level a little bit.
