Crysis 2 is the Best German Game 2011; wins six German Developer Awards

In line with yesterday evening’s awards ceremony in Düsseldorf (Germany), Crytek won a total of six German Developer Awards. Long story short, Crysis 2 has managed to receive the awards for ‘Best German Game’, ‘Best Action Game’, ‘Best Graphics’, ‘Best Soundtrack’, ‘Best Technology’ and ‘Best Console Game’. While this is great for Crytek, we feel a bit weird as… well… you know… Best Console Game of 2011 and Best Graphics? We think not. Anyway, it’s nice to see Crytek getting recognition for their sequel to one of the best – and most beautiful – PC FPS games. Battlefield 3 – Surprise surprise; IRNV is still bugged after the latest patch

One of the most controversial changes in the latest patch of Battlefield 3 is definitely the rebalanced IRNV. Contrary to the PS3 changes though, the PC changes that were made to the IRNV are quite different. The PC version seems better overall, however you still can’t see – pretty much – anything. Not only that, but there is a crucial bug where the IRNV returns to the pre-patch state when your health drops under a certain point. Now that’s really awesome and we have a video of this bug in action. Enjoy everyone and yeah, DICE stay true to their roots and are introducing new bugs with each and every new patch. Hooray! Battlefield 3 PC Now Features Falling Tower In Caspian Border; Battlelog and Servers Are Back Online

Admit it, you were a bit jealous that PS3 gamers could witness the fall of the antenna tower in the Caspian Border. And although DICE hadn’t revealed when this feature would pass on the PC version, look and behold as the latest PC patch that was released today features it. Oh yeah, PC gamers can now see the ‘falling antenna tower’ in the Caspian Border map. Moreover, both Battlelog and the PC patch are live right now, with the patch weighting over 3.5GB. DICE added some interesting features and in case you weren’t aware of, Ping is now present in the scoreboard and the chat window has been tweaked and moved to the top left of the screen. Furthermore, Battlelog has now more filter options as PC gamers can filter things like kill cam, vehicles, squad leader spawn. Enjoy some footage of the falling antenna from a PC match after the jump.
In other news, the Back to Karkand Expansion is live now on the PS3 and in order to celebrate its launch, DICE has released a new trailer, featuring explosive PlayStation 3 gameplay from the all-time classic map Wake Island.
Enjoy!

Battlefield 3 – No plans for VOIP PC changes; bad business to properly fix it

Now that’s really hilarious. As you may already know, Battlefield 3 does not properly support VoIP. Yes, you are still able to use it but that’s thanks to Battlelog as DICE’s platform offers this feature and not the game itself. Of course, there are various issues due to this decision and it seems that DICE is not willing to fix them by properly including VoIP support to Battlefield 3. The reason? It’s bad business. Wait what? Continue reading Battlefield 3 – No plans for VOIP PC changes; bad business to properly fix it

New screenshots for the Adventure/fantasy/LOST-type movie that is powered by CryEngine 2

Modder ‘sebastian__’ released some new screenshots for his Adventure/fantasy/LOST-type movie that is based on the CryEngine 2. This movie is trying to push the boundaries of Crytek’s engine to the next level and sports some jaw-dropping visuals. According to sebastian__, the following images are in real-time but they are not playable as the framerate is around 15 in low-resolutions. Therefore, don’t expect to see such graphics in video-games anytime soon (or at least until the next-generation of consoles hit the market). No release date has been announced as of yet. Dragon Age Anime Movie – Coming on February 11th, New Trailer Released

Okay, I’m a little puzzled here. Although I love animes – still consider Death Note as one of the best animes ever – I’m not fascinated by the idea of an anime movie that is based on BioWare’s RPG, Dragon Age. This movie is produced in co-operation with director Sori, and according to EA, Japanese animes are really popular in North America and that’s precisely why the company decided to make one. Dragon Age: Blood Mage Crusade – as it will be called – is currently slated for a February 11th release and TOEntertainment released a new trailer for it that can be viewed bellow. Enjoy!
