Yesterday, The Coalition released the October 5th update for Gears of War: E-Day and shared its full patch notes. So, let’s see what this pre-release update brought to the table.
The October 5 update for Gears of War: E-Day brought a long list of fixes and improvements. It focused on game stability, performance, hardware support, and error reporting.
The update also improved online play. It fixed some Versus Social matches that could get stuck on the “Waiting for players” screen. Xbox sign-in now works better when the system clock is wrong. It also fixed the “Bilefrog-Kalona” error, which could sign out a split-screen player after the game was suspended. Online sessions should also be more stable.
The Campaign got several fixes too. Players joining an active game should no longer get rewards earned before they joined. The update also fixed issues with turrets, War Journal progress, Forge rewards, and several mission objectives in Acts 2 and 4.
Horde Siege got fixes for Siege Blitz objectives and the extraction helicopter. In Versus, a Demolition bomb should no longer get stuck while being defused.
The UI also got a few fixes. Online Diagnostic text has been adjusted, and one issue that could make the game try to claim the same Challenge Mail reward again and again has been fixed.
Steam and the Microsoft Store will download this update the next time you launch their clients. That is, if you own the Premium Edition. For everyone else, it will be included in the game when it comes out tomorrow.
