New Splinter Cell: Blacklist Footage Shows Off More Action And Less Stealth

Splinter Cell Blacklist v2
VG247 has posted a new video in which cinematic director David Footman talks about the latest Splinter Cell game. What’s interesting here is that for the first time, a Ubisoft employee officially admits that Conviction was developed in order to be a fast-paced action title, while at the same time abandoning its stealthy roots. Well, it took them a while to admit it. David believes that Blacklist will be something different, though, and Ubisoft’s designers are working hard to provide stealth approaches to every single level. Enjoy! L.A. Noire Gets A Pretty Cool Blooper Video

LA Noire
Depth Analysis, the Australian tech firm that supplied the motion-tracking technology used by Team Bondi’s adventure title has released a blooper video, showcasing what can actually happen when actors forget their lines or burst into laugher. This video also shows off some of the witnesses of this technique, as there is no way to edit an animation once it has been completed and featured in the game. Kudos to ‘George’ for spotting it. Enjoy! Continue reading L.A. Noire Gets A Pretty Cool Blooper Video

Michael Pachter vs NeoGAF – Let The Battle Begin

Michael Pachter
Let’s be honest here; we love NeoGAF. Not only some of our stories (and stories you witness in other websites that are not willing give away their supposedly trusty source) are coming from this incredible forum, but you can also find some amazing and truly ground-breaking opinions/discussions about various things (related to games). And if you are a regular in NeoGAF, you’ll pretty much know that Pachter is not welcomed in there. In a surprising turn of events, though, Pachter decided to challenge NeoGAF and ‘prove’ how GAFfers are (mostly) smart and are (mostly) assholes. Megabomb: Halo 3 and King Of Fighter XIII Spotted In Steam’s Registry

Halo v2
Okay everyone, we seriously don’t know whether Valve is out of its mind or if they’re simply adding hubs for games that are not available on its digital distribution service. King of Fighter XIII though? For real? Continue reading Megabomb: Halo 3 and King Of Fighter XIII Spotted In Steam’s Registry

Ubisoft Massive’s Artist Experiments With CryEngine 3 And Creates A Gorgeous Open-World Environment

CryEngine 3 v2
To be honest, it does not surprise us to see artists from various studios experimenting with different game engines. Truth be told, they are dedicated to their teams but what happens when – and if – they get fired and are not accustomed to other engines? That’s right, it will be really hard to get a new work on another studio. So, today we bring you three screenshots (first three images) from Ubisoft Massive’s environmental artist, Cristoffer Radsby, who is currently creating an amazing open-world level in CryEngine 3. In addition, you can find below more screenshots from CryEngine 3 modders Jason Stokes, chicken, Puppy, Tiesto, ReVan1199, Tidius_, Thomy and RayFan9876. Enjoy! This is what a next-generation Mass Effect game could look like – Final Part

Mass Effect next-gen
Talented 3D artist “Baolong” has finally finished his next-generation 3D character that is based on BioWare’s RPG series, Mass Effect. We’ve covered Baolong’s in the past and we strongly think that he deserves the spotlight. It would be cool to also see this character in motion, but that won’t happen anytime soon. As you may have guessed, this week’s UDK gallery is dedicated to Baolong. Still, you can also find below you shots and videos from Blubberblase, Kyuuu, kevino025, jamiemurphy, danielguti, sloth452 and rambooze. Enjoy! Retrospective Video – The Evolution Of Real-Time PC Graphics

3D Mark 2001
I really love this kind of videos. YouTube’s “PerfectHandVideos” has created an amazing retrospective video, showcasing the evolution of real-time PC graphics. This video shows off some of the benchmark tools and video-games that were released from 2000 to 2012, and even though we’re talking about a 2-hour video, we highly recommend watching it. Who can forget the Matrix scene from 3D Mark 2001? Or the Nature benchmark that showcased an Oblivion-like environment, something that most of us thought impossible at that time. So grab your pop-corn and off you go! Continue reading Retrospective Video – The Evolution Of Real-Time PC Graphics
