Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 – PC Details, System Requirements, DX10/DX11 Only, No Windows XP Support

Activision and Treyarch have revealed some new details about Black Ops 2 PC, as well as the game’s minimum system requirements. According to the developers, Black Ops 2 has moved on to the DX11 API (that is backward compatible with DX10) and won’t support both DX9 cards and Windows XP. This is really shocking as Black Ops 2 does not sport next-generation graphics. In fact, it looks mediocre, even for multi-platform titles standards. The developers went ahead and explained their decision to move on to DX11, stating that Microsoft’s new API is leaner than DX9 and requires less CPU time to do the same amount of work. Weekly Top 10 PC Charts; UK PC Retail and Steam Digital Charts [August 26th – September 1st]

The latest Top 10 PC charts have been revealed and as we can see, Guild Wars 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive are the best selling titles for the PC. What’s really remarkable here is that Guild Wars 2 has managed to top every single game in UK, including the console ones, whereas Football Manager 2012, Darksiders II and Dark Souls: Prepare To Die Edition are nowhere to be found. Apart from these changes though, UK’s PC retail charts are a bit similar to last week’s. Sleeping Dogs has dropped to the ninth place, whereas Diablo III and Skyrim have gained one and two places, respectively. And naturally, the Top 10 is overloaded with The Sims 3 titles. Man, imagine how things would be if we didn’t have all those pasionate modders. After fixing a lot of issues in Skyrim and introducing some CPU optimizations, a new team has focused on the game’s recently released DLC. This is a comprehensive bugfixing mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Dawnguard, which means that the goal of the Unofficial Dawnguard Patch (aka UDGP) is to eventually fix every bug with Dawnguard – that was not officially resolved by the developers – to the limits of the Creation Kit and community-developed tools, in one easy-to-install package. Sleeping Dogs – PC Performance Analysis

Sleeping Dogs is one of the best PC ports we’ve seen in recent years. In fact, Sleeping Dogs PC is – almost – as good as the PC version of Max Payne 3. Both Rockstar and United Front Games have decided to spend some extra time on the PC versions of their games, and that time did pay off. Publishers and other developers, start taking notes – this is how you port your games to the PC. Continue reading Sleeping Dogs – PC Performance Analysis

Survival Horror Games Entering A New Age – Will Benefit From Oculus Rift – Montas Gameplay Footage

I tell you this – Oculus Rift will definitely benefit indie horror survival games. Imagine that, playing Amnesia with Oculus Rift and moving your head (aka viewpoint), while viewing everything in 3D. Now that would be an amazing gaming experience, no? Think of it. Survival horror games rely so much on your environment. If you decide to play such a game in daylight, the game’s immersion and scare sequences will be ruined. But what if you were forced to play it in 3D with goggles that block the sunlight?
