CyberPower today announced the immediate availability of its Gamer Ultra VR Desktop – an Oculus Ready gaming system in partnership with AMD and Oculus Rift. The system when bundled with the Oculus Rift headset, will retail at $499 at select online retail partners BestBuy and Amazon. Complete cost of the bundle with Rift headset is $1,099.98. Oculus removes DRM headset checks, won’t reuse it in the future

Oculus has done some really silly things in the past. Apart from trying to sign up deals with a number of developers in order to release their VR games first on the Oculus Rift, the team had implemented a really weird DRM hardware check in order to prevent all HTC Vive owners from playing the exclusive Oculus Rift titles. Oculus Touch will be compatible with all HTC Vive games

Things are looking really weird regarding the available VR devices for the PC. On one hand, we have Oculus that tries to get some exclusive games for its VR device. On the other hand, we’ve got Valve that does the exact opposite for the HTC Vive and opens up SteamVR to everyone. Oculus has confirmed the games that will be available for Oculus Rift on its launch day. According to the list, and among other titles, EVE: Valkyrie, Elite Dangerous, Project CARS, ADR1FT, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter and Pinball FX2 will be available for the Oculus Rift.
