CryZone: Sector 23 Beta Is Out Now; Crysis Total Conversion, based on S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Team WoS Team, the team behind CryZone: Sector 23, a Crysis total conversion that is based on GSC’s STALKER, series has released its beta version which allows players to get acquainted with the post-apocalyptic world of «Cry» Zone. Players will find a few quests, and one, but huge in size, location, steeped with dense forest and wrapped innumerable villages, research facilities and military testing sites. As with STALKER, one of the key elements for this Mod is its A-life system (non-final version), which is basically scripts that will have an unpredictable and interesting impact in CryZone: Sector 23’s gameplay. Author of SkyBoost claims that Bethesda has no interest in boosting/fixing the PC version of Skyrim

A few days ago, we informed you about the latest version of SkyBoost, a CPU performance optimization mod that is based on Arisu’s TESV Acceleration Layer. After the findings of Arisu, we were hoping that Bethesda would acknowledged and fix it in a future patch. Apparently, that’s not the case as Alexander Blade, author of SkyBoost, claimed that Bethesda has no interest in boosting the PC version of Skyrim. In an age where most developers and publishers are fighting piracy with all of their power, a confession from Larian Studios founder, Swen Vincke, comes to shake things up. According to Vincke himself, he wouldn’t be in this industry if he hadn’t pirated a couple of games. Now this is really shocking and we are impressed by Vincke’s honesty on this matter, as most developers/publishers would condemn piracy in due time. Batman: Arkham City – PhysX FPS boost in DX11 and DX9 with custom apex.dll

Now here is a great find. Guru3D’s user ‘gerardfraser’ decided to try Mafia 2’s apex.dll file and see whether or not he could gain any performance boost with it in Batman: Arkham City. Apparently, there is a nice performance jump as the user witnessed a 20fps boost from using this apex.dll file. In other words, this is a must-have file for those that wanted some of the PhysX effects, but were put off by its atrocious performance. PC gamers, meet PSISHOCK; a space survival horror adventure FPS

PC gamers, meet PSISHOCK; a first person horror adventure that is focusing on survival, story and immersion. PSISHOCK is developed by Serygala and is powered by the FPSC engine. The game has been in development for sometime and its creator has released today some new screenshots to show off his progress. To be honest, it looks quite similar to Doom 3. Contrary to iD’s little gem though, PSISHOCK features higher-resolution textures, which is a plus in our books. New Return to Jurassic Park Screenshots

Return to Jurassic Park is a Crysis mod for Jurassic Park with a fictional story setting on Isla Nublar 18 years after the first film. The team is hard at work and there is a chance that we might see this mod released in 2012. Amazing cover of Final Fantasy VI’s OST

Okay, this is simply amazing. YouTube’s member ‘Marcpapeghin’ did an amazing cover for, pretty much, every Final Fantasy VI song, arranged them together and recorded them. Contrary to other covers, this one is simply beyond words as Marc Papeghin has managed to capture the spirit of the game and used lots of instruments by himself. This is simply too good to pass by and you should definitely give it a go. This man deserves the spotlight, believe us. Weekly CryEngine 3 Gallery [December 25th – 31st]; this is how Fifa 13 would look like in CryEngine 3

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; you can’t comprehend the flexibility of Crytek’s latest game engine, CryEngine 3. Modders around the world are experimenting with it – thanks to the free SDK that was released by Crytek – and one of them is Gkan who is creating a soccer game. Now there are a lot of complex issues (regarding its collision system) but from what we’ve seen so far, this is how the next-generation version of Fifa would actually look like. It’s really impressive and get this; it’s from one man and not from a whole team, dedicated to it. Simply, amazing.
