Dead Island 2 new screenshots-2

Dead Island 2 now has an NVIDIA DLSS 3 Mod

Dead Island 2 is one of the few games that only supported AMD’s upscaling tech, FSR, when it came out. Although the game is powered by Unreal Engine 4, it does not support XeSS or DLSS. Thankfully, though, modder ‘PS2ClassicsVault’ has just released a new mod that replaces AMD FSR with NVIDIA DLSS 3.

Now before continuing, I should make it clear that this mod does not introduce support for DLSS 3 Frame Generation. Instead, it replaces FSR with DLSS 3 Super Resolution. You can download it from this link.

The good news here is that thanks to this mod, RTX40 owners can enjoy a better image quality with it. After all, even with mods, DLSS is far superior to FSR.

As I wrote in my PC Performance Analysis, the NVIDIA RTX4090 can push over 80fps at all times at Native 4K/Ultra Settings. However, owners of less powerful GPUs can benefit from this mod. So, make sure to download it from here if you own an RTX 4070 or an RTX 4080.

Last week, Deep Silver released Dead Island 2 on Steam. For those wondering, the game still uses the Denuvo anti-tamper tech. And, from what we know, Dambuster Studios has no plans to add official support for DLSS. In short, this mod will be a must for a lot of PC gamers.

Speaking of Frame Generation Mods, you might also want to check these out. For instance, you can download these free DLSS 3 Mods for Assassin’s Creed MirageDying Light 2, Elden Ring and Lies of P. Then we have the FSR 3.0 mods for PalworldThe Last of Us Part I and Dead Space Remake. Sadly, these mods are still behind a Patreon wall. Earlier this year, we also shared DLSS 3 Frame Generation Mods for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Dragon’s Dogma 2. And then have the DLSS 3 Mods for Baldur’s Gate 3Grand Theft Auto 5, and Red Dead Redemption 2.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
