Assassin’s Creed III – Vanilla vs Modded

Ah, the beauty of SweetFX; a tool that can literally transform a game into a piece of art. A tool that can make a game look exactly the way you want to. A tool that is a must-have for every PC gamer. Therefore, we’ll be posting a comparison – after the Performance Analysis of each and every title – between its vanilla and its modded version. Since everyone has a different opinion on what looks best, we’ll also be featuring your configs (alongside some comparison shots that you’ll have to send us, as well as what was your take on using those parameters). Assassin’s Creed III – PC Performance Analysis

Remember when Ubisoft stated that it was putting a lot of effort on the PC port of Assassin’s Creed III? Remember when it stated that PC gamers would be happy – and proud – about the PC version of it? Remember when the company said that the delay of the PC version was in order to ensure that it would be optimized for the PC platform? Well, as usual, none of them were true. Assassin’s Creed III PC is an awful console port, with a DX11 renderer that is seriously bugged and does not perform as good as the older DX9 one that was used in all previous versions of Assassin’s Creed. Not only that, but the game does not take advantage of multi-core CPUs, meaning that each and everyone will be CPU limited in the blink of an eye. Assassin’s Creed III Thanksgiving Patch Is Now Available For Download

Good news for all Assassin’s Creed fans, as Ubisoft has released a Thanksgiving patch for Assassin’s Creed 3. This patch fixes one hell of SP issues, improves the multiplayer mode, fixes rare crashes and bugs. Console owners will be prompted to download it the moment they connect their consoles to the Internet. PC gamers should be prompted too. If not, this patch has already been applied to the release version of the game, so there is nothing you can really do about its abysmal performance. Good news is that the level editor will also come on consoles, as FallenChamp had the chance to test the X360 version of it. Unfortunately though, we do not know if Ubisoft will offer cross-platform capabilities to it, meaning that your PC level will only be playable on the PC version of the game. Far Cry 3’s embargo has been lifted and as we don’t have any performance analysis to share (for now), we bring you today a 16 minutes footage from the PC version, with Ultra settings, courtesy of WhySoSirius. The commentary is in German, but who really cares, right? As we can see, Far Cry 3 looks great and there is no noticeable pop-up when using Ultra settings. Question now is how the game performs (as there is no framerate indication and we don’t know the specs that were used) and whether this title takes advantage of multiple CPU cores. Enjoy!
