Ah, it’s that time of year again. 2013 was a good year, full of surprises. It was also the year we got our first ‘next-gen’ titles, so it’s time now to see which are the top 10 PC optimized games of 2013. Before beginning, let us be crystal clear on this; we are not judging their gameplay mechanics. No no no no. We’re focusing on their tech side. This year we’ve also included the biggest disappointments, as well as some honorable mentions. So, let’s take a look at our list, shall we?
Ubisoft has released a new update for the PC version of Call of Juarez: Gunslinger. According to its changelog, this patch adds some new settings in video.scr file, displays extra directional arrows next to action keys during Quick Time Events sequences when played on mouse/keyboard and allows quick access to users’ profiles directly from any leaderboard menu. When Call of Juarez: Gunslinger was first announced, we were a little bit worried about it. A downloadable-only title that had a cel-shaded look? “What has Techland done to the franchise that was always packed with great visuals?” we wondered. But then Call of Juarez: The Cartel came back to our minds and brought us back to reality, reminding us how awful it actually was. Man, now that was a train wreck. Thankfully though, Ubisoft and Techland took the right decision this time around and surprised us pleasantly. Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is a really fun game, and looks miles better than The Cartel. Techland has released the first patch for the PC version of Call of Juarez: Gunslinger. According to its changelog, this update patches up heavy stuttering when using certain keyboard and mouse models and fixes some sound issues that were present on 7.1 speaker configurations. In addition, this update offers PC gamers the ability to tweak the game’s FOV to their liking and to disable the black borders (via the video.ini file). Ubisoft has released a new set of screenshots and a trailer for its upcoming Call of Juarez title, Call of Juarez: Gunslinger. Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is said to be a real homage to the Wild West tales and era in which players will live the epic journey of Silas Greaves, a ruthless bounty hunter who spent his life on the trail of the West’s most notorious outlaws. Ubisoft has released the first gameplay trailer for the new Call of Juarez game that is currently under development. According to the French company, Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is made of memorable encounters with some of the West’s most notorious names such as John Wesley Harding, Billy the Kid and Jesse James, that aims to blur the lines between man and myth.
