Now this is how you create mind-blowing tributes (or trailers). Pedro Calvo has created an amazing video tribute to Black Mesa, with Joel Nielsen’s music and Victoria Teunissen on vocal duties (Connor Pelkey has also halped in creating this video with his Voice Engineering skills). And quite frankly, this is the most beautiful tribute we’ve ever seen. It’s emotional, Victoria’s voice is great, Joel’s music is outstanding, and the whole video feels so warm and calm. Now this is how trailers should be made. Forget those dubstep crap. This is art. Let us also remind you that Black Mesa Source is currently planned for a September 14th release. Enjoy! Toshiba has demonstrated the first games, running at a 4K ( 3840×2160 ) resolution on its 4K Quad-FHD screen. As you may have expected, the company used a powerful PC with a high-end GPU. The good news for all PC gamers is that both AMD’s 7970 and Nvidia’s GTX680 are capable of running games on such resolutions at 30fps. Naturally, a lot of people will wonder why do you need this pricey TV when you can already downsample your games. Well, Toshiba has to promote its screens (one way or another) and since a lot of gamers are not aware of downsampling, they’re taking advantage of it. And although there are rumors about PS4 supporting 4K resolutions, don’t expect its games to run natively at those. Enjoy the demonstration below! Continue reading Latest Nvidia & AMD high-end GPUs can handle pretty well 4K resolution games→

Our reader Jonathan Gustafsson has sent us a interesting video from – what seems to be – a cancelled GTA IV project. This project attempted to port GTA2 into GTA IV’s game engine, the RAGE Engine, and looks cute and sexy. It also gives us a glipse at what a proper, top-down isometric, GTA game with high-resolution textures and assets would look like in a modern-day engine. Man, now that would be something worth waiting for. This project was started by modder ‘garju’ and its video demonstration was uploaded by YouTube’s member ‘taltigolt.’ Enjoy!
