Brigade 3.0 – Real-Time Path Tracing Engine – New Footage Revealed

Brigade 2
Hayssam Keilany, creator of the amazing iCEnhancer mod for GTA IV, has posted a new video from the Brigade 3.0 engine; an engine that supports real-time path tracing. This new video features a human model that dances, and we are almost certain that a lot will criticize the dancing itself. However, that’s not the point of the video. Most of you should focus on the spectacular lighting that has been achieved via tha path tracing techniques. Moreover, and contrary to previous videos, this one has less noise side-effects, so kudos to the team for making such progress. Enjoy! Real-time Path Tracing Showcase – Brigade Engine Keeps Getting Better & Better

Brigade 2
We’ve covered the Brigade Engine in the past, and – as we said back then – we are really looking forward to see what the team behind it can achieve. Our biggest gripe with the Brigade Engine was the noise side effects that were introduced due to the low lighting samples. Back then, those side effects were horrendous. Fast forward a couple of months though, and here we are today with a new video, showcasing what the engine is capable of right now. Thankfully, the noise has been reduced, though it is still noticeable. However, it isn’t as distracting as it was originally so kudos to the team. Not only that, but games similar to Amnesia could benefit from these noise effects. Enjoy the video, courtesy of Hayssam Keilany, creator of the iCEnhancer mod for GTA IV. Brigade Engine’s developer believes that PS4 will offer Ray/Path Tracing, New Screenshot & Video

Brigade 2
Ray Tracing is considered by a lot as the holy grail of computer graphics and lighting. However, there haven’t been any engines capable of offering such a feature in the last couple of years. And even though we’ve got some path tracing engines lately, like the Brigade 2 Engine, we’ve still have a long way until we get games without those annoying noise side-effects. Or not? According to Samual Lapere, OTOY’s graphics developer, Playstation 4 might be able to offer real-time ray tracing in a couple of games. New Screenshots & Video From Real-Time Path Tracer Engine, Brigade

Brigade 2
Hayssam Keilany has released three new screenshots from the Brigade engine, an engine for video games that instead of using rasterisation to render the image (like every other 3D game), it uses path tracing. In addition, Samuel Lapere has unveiled a video – and some new screenshots – from a new test, showing 1024 physics driven dynamic cubes in a street scene. Enjoy! Continue reading New Screenshots & Video From Real-Time Path Tracer Engine, Brigade

Photorealism achieved – New screenshots from the Path-Tracer ‘Brigade 2’ Engine

Okay everyone, it seems that the team behind the Brigade 2 Engine has managed to produce photorealistic graphics. Hayssam Keilany has released a new set of screenshots from Brigade 2 Engine, showcasing some of the best graphics we’ve ever seen. This is not a stretch, as the following screenshots can be easily mistaken for real photos. The biggest issue of the Brigade 2 Engine (and ray/path tracing engines in general) is the noise/grain effect that is being introduced. If those guys find a way to minimize it, their engine will be able to challenge every other triple-A engine. Enjoy! Continue reading Photorealism achieved – New screenshots from the Path-Tracer ‘Brigade 2’ Engine

New Brigade 2 Engine Screenshots Reveal Mind-Blowing Indoors And A Gorgeous Chess

We’ve said it in the past and will say it again – path (and ray) tracing is the future for gaming graphics. Following the previous showcase of the Brigade 2 Engine, Hayssam Keilany has shared two news screenshots from this new engine that showcase an indoor environment and a chess game. Naturally, there is that noise/grain effect due to path tracing but forget about it for a second and pay attention to the refraction of light and the reflections in that particular indoor environment. Quite honestly, this is what we’re really looking forward to. Enjoy and be sure to pay a visit to Keilany’s blog. The Future Is Here – New shots and video from the Brigade 2 Engine – Real-time path tracing

Hayssam Keilany, best known for his iCEnhancer mods, has shared a new video that showcases the real-time path tracing lighting of the Brigade 2 Engine. Unfortunately, the video is not in HD quality (and the compression method that has been used is mediocre at best) and let’s not forget that this method of path tracing adds a noise effect that might annoy some of you. Good news then that we got some direct shots (thanks ‘Josh’ for mailing them) from this video demonstration that can be viewed below, right?
