Nintendo 64 Exclusive Pilotwings 64 Gets Unofficial PC Port

Nintendo 64 fans, here is something for you today. An unofficial PC version of Pilotwings 64 has just been released. As such, PC gamers can now experience, play, and enjoy another game that was previously exclusive to consoles.

For those who did not know, Pilotwings 64 is the sequel to the SNES game, Pilotwings. It came out in 1996, and it puts the player in control of one of six pilots as they try to earn pilot licenses through various forms of aviation. The events are flying an autogyro, using a jet pack, and hang gliding. Several bonus tasks are offered, such as skydiving and a human cannonball test. The game also puts focus on allowing the player to freely explore its detailed 3D environments.

Pilotwings 64: Recompiled brings the classic Nintendo 64 game to Windows and Linux as a native PC port. You also get a launcher with graphics, sound, and control settings. Keyboard and controller support are included as well.

One of the biggest upgrades is widescreen support. The game can now use your display’s full aspect ratio, while the HUD stays near the screen edges. The old black overscan border is also gone. The port adds high frame rates through frame interpolation. This lets the game run at the refresh rate of your display, making movement much smoother than the original version.

The PC port also removes long waits between some screens. The original game could pause for up to six seconds when changing some menus. The recompiled version makes these changes instant. Players can also remap controls and use mods through the launcher. The project supports both Windows and Linux, but you need your own copy of the US version of Pilotwings 64. No game data is included with the port.

You can go ahead and download this unofficial PC port of Pilotwings 64 from here.

In case you are into projects like these, you can also download the unofficial PC ports of Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Crash Team Racing, and Duke Nukem: Zero Hour. You can also play The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, Perfect Dark, and Jak & Daxter.

Furthermore, Brian Tate has brought the three classic SNES Donkey Kong Country games to PC. For our SNES fans, we also have a PC port of Star Fox. Earlier this month, we also got a PC port of F-Zero. And, since we’ve already gotten a few SNES games, I’d really love to see a PC version of Jurassic Park with KB&M support and HD textures. Now that would be awesome.

In September 2026, we shared a lot of unofficial PC ports. So, you can download and enjoy on PC Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link,  WET, Spider-Man: Edge of Time, GTA: Liberty City Stories, Fable 2, Burnout Revenge, Super Mario Strikers, and Lost Odyssey.

And that’s not all of them. We also have the unofficial PC ports of Mario Party 4, Sonic Unleashed, GoldenEye 007, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Silent Hill, and Super Smash Bros 64. Last month, we shared the unofficial PC ports of Gears of War 2 and Syphon Filter. Earlier this month, we shared the PC ports of Diddy Kong Racing and Ace Combat 6.
