Electronic Arts today announced Need for Speed: Rivals, an action/racing game created by an inspired new development team. Need for Speed: Rivals is being developed by EA’s newest studio Ghost Games, who bring new thinking and possible innovation to the Need for Speed franchise in partnership with the expert racing team at Criterion Games. Built on the Frostbite 3 game engine , Need for Speed: Rivals promises to capture the adrenaline and intensity of the street’s ultimate rivalry between cops and racers, in a stunning open road environment. Need for Speed Rivals is coming to X360, PS3 and PC on November 19th and will also be released on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 later this year. Electronic Arts has just unveiled – via the game’s official FB page – that the new Need For Speed title will be unveiled tomorrow. In addition, the company has also released a new image in which we can clearly see that… it’s a Need For Speed title (no shit Sherlock). Yesterday’s teaser image hinted at something regarding pursuits, so we can almost safely say that this is going to either be a reboot of Hot Pursuit or a new entry to the series. DICE announced that it will be unveiling Battlefield 4 multiplayer at this year’s E3 with a live demo at “The Download: EA 2013 Preview” press conference taking place at 9:00 pm GMT on Monday, June 10th. Fans attending E3 will have the chance to go hands-on with multiplayer in EA’s booth located at #1601 in the South Hall. DICE will also be live streaming their entire E3 booth experience including multiplayer matches complete with commentary. Electronic Arts has released the first screenshot from the new Need For Speed game that is currently under development. Although we don’t know much about it, the image is accompanied by the ‘Have no rules, show no mercy’ comment. Let’s hope that EA will reveal more later this week. Well, that was a given. DICE and EA have announced – via the game’s official FB page – that Battlefield 4 will be also coming to Xbox One (as well as PS4, but that was also a given). In addition, the companies have released a new screenshot from the next-gen version of it. Battlefield 4 is planned for release on October 29th, and will be powered by Frostbite 3. Earlier last week, a new MOBA game was hinted. According to some rumors, EA was developing a new MOBA title called Dawngate, and it seems that those rumors were true as Machinima has unveiled the first gameplay footage from it. Dawngate is played from an isometric top-down viewpoint and features cel-shaded visuals. Dawngate will feature interesting looting, and will also sport some RTS elements. In addition, we’ve featured a video from modder ‘para vach’ that showcases a ‘fake’ dynamic cloud system. The highlight of this week is the Mafia and the countryside shots. 3D artist Insulaner and his friends have created a next-gen version of Mafia (for Polygon’s Escape contest) that looks spectacular. Team Caravan, on the other hand, created a countryside that reminded us of Fallout, proving that Crytek’s proprietary engine is capable of offering truly next-generation visuals. Enjoy!
