We usually avoid having such articles about special PC deals and offers, however this is impossible to simply pass by. Amazon is currently offering one of the best looking PC games to date at only 4 bucks. And while Crysis 3 was not as good as Crysis 1 (overall as a game), we’re talking here about $4. Sony has released a new gameplay trailer for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Back in E3, Naughty Dog claimed that its trailer ran on a PS4 in real-time at 1080p/60FPS. Therefore, we believe it’s really interesting to compare that reveal trailer with the latest in-game footage, as well as the game’s character models with those of Crysis 3, Ryse, COD: Advanced Warfare and Assassin’s Creed: Unity. Things are definitely not looking good for Crytek. By now, most of you are aware of the underwhelming hardware of current-gen consoles. And while PC gaming hardware has surpassed beyond what consoles could ever dream (hardware-wise), DigitalFoundry decided to experiment with a new budget CPU in order to find out whether it would be able to deliver a ‘console’ experience. And to everyone’s surprise, a system with a £45 CPU coupled and a £110 GPU is able to pull almost constant 30fps at 1080p and with High settings. Hell, if you pack this budget CPU with a high-end GPU, you are looking at a performance greater than the one found on current-gen consoles, something that – in our opinion – says a lot. Ah, it’s that time of year again. 2013 was a good year, full of surprises. It was also the year we got our first ‘next-gen’ titles, so it’s time now to see which are the top 10 PC optimized games of 2013. Before beginning, let us be crystal clear on this; we are not judging their gameplay mechanics. No no no no. We’re focusing on their tech side. This year we’ve also included the biggest disappointments, as well as some honorable mentions. So, let’s take a look at our list, shall we?
Now this is glorious. Wolf Lang, Co-CEO at THREAKS, has informed us about an epic win of their indie title Beatbuddy: Tale of the Guardians against Crysis 3. As Wolf Lang told us, Beatbuddy: Tale of the Guardians has beaten Crysis 3 in the Best Game Design category at the German Developer Awards 2013. Well, most of us saw that coming. It seems that the PC version of Crysis 3 did not sell well, despite Crytek’s efforts to offer mind-blowing graphics and visuals. Yes, the PC version of Crysis 3 looks gorgeous but as a game itself… well… you know now… different Psycho… a f’ed up storyline… laughable attempts to connect Crysis 2 and 3 with Crysis 1. Let’s just say that we were disappointed with it, and it apparently we weren’t the only ones feeling that way.
