Now this is just awesome. Serious Sam : The Retro Encounter is a Serious Sam 3 mod for Doom 2 that looks remarkably amazing. Since this is a Doom 2 mod, everything is made of 2D sprites. The mod is being made by SeriousZone forum member ‘Batandy’ and ‘Duke_Nume’ and is basically a tribute to Croteam’s latest Serious Sam game and the team is trying to make it as similiar as it can to The Second Encounter. Back in May, we informed you about Serious Sam 3’s DLC. Although it took Croteam and Devolver Digital a while, they shared today the first screenshot from this upcoming DLC. Although we don’t usually share console news, we are really happy that Croteam decided to port Serious Sam 3 to consoles. After all, we love this game and today we can offer you some new information about those upcoming versions. According to Croteam themselves, the X360 version of Serious Sam 3 is planned for release in the next 4 months. After the release of the X360 version, the team will focus on the PS3 one. As we informed you a couple of days ago, Croteam and Devolver would announce this week their DLC plans for Serious Sam HD. And we are happy to inform you today that the first DLC pack for Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter will be called Legend of the Beast. Legend of the Beast DLC will hit the Internet on May 15th in which Sam will track down the mysterious ram-god of The Great Obelisk in an all-new chapter of the legendary series. Back in April, Croteam and Devolver played a little joke to all Serious Sam 3 fans as they announced their – supposedly fake – plans for Serious Sam 3’s DLC. A lot of SS3 fans got disappointed when they found out that it was an April Fool’s joke. Well, it seems that Croteam and Devolver had something going on and wanted to simple tease back then, as the publisher has revealed that we’ll be getting some DLC news this week for both Serious Sam HD and Serious Sam 3.
