Gameforge announced that AION celebrates today its first free-to-play anniversary, thus the team will be celebrating the anniversary of this occasion with many events – together with the players! For example, in the Boost event there will be 50% more experience and Abyss points and a 50% increased chance on the drop rate of items as well as the success rate when crafting until the 6th March. On top of this, a special happy hour is waiting for the AION community alongside the Spring event on Thursday 28th February: the Daeva Special. Gameforge announced today the first batch of figures for their free-to-play MMORPG, Aion. According to the stats, more than 750,000 accounts have been created on the Gameforge servers. Currently, around 20,000 new accounts are adding to this figure every day. The Karlsruhe-based company is also able to show a growth in the number of active daily users: since the release of the Free-to-Play version these numbers have increased fivefold already. With only four weeks of running time, AION has seamlessly added itself to the Gameforge portfolio, alongside other internationally successful titles such as Metin 2 and Ikariam. Gameforge announced today that AION will switch to free-to-play on the 28th of February 2012 . The change-over will occur simultaneously for the German, French and English language versions. Gameforge has revealed the new features that were implemented in the latest, free-to-play version of AION. According to the company, new features and functions have been added, and some MMO essentials have been adjusted, such as new instances, a better rewards system, more opportunities for levelling up through quests, and innovations such as the mentor system, from which beginners as well as experienced veterans can benefit.
