The team behind Dusklight, the unofficial PC port of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, has released a new update for it. Update 1.3.1 comes with some cool new changes and improvements. So, let’s take a closer look at it.
Since our last coverage, Dusklight got two new updates. So, let’s start with Update 1.3.0, which was the major one.
Update 1.3.0 added a new modernized Depth of Field implementation. It added an option to “Hide Owl Statue Markers” after completion, and it also added some new Achievements. There is now better Steam Controller support on Linux, and we got new “Invert Air/Swim Axis” options.
Moreover, this update fixed some instances where Wolf Link couldn’t howl. It also fixed THP (demo video) playback stuttering issues. Furthermore, the game should be more stable now on your PC as the devs have fixed a number of crashes.
It’s also worth noting that Dusklight can now ignore software renderers when choosing the graphics backend. This works around an issue where D3D12 falling back to “Microsoft Basic Renderer” could crash before the Vulkan or D3D11 backends have a chance to initialize.
Update 1.3.1 is basically a hotfix for version 1.3.0. To be more precise, it fixes several issues with configuration saving and loading. It also fixes the missing chains in Arbiter’s Grounds, Hyrule Castle. Plus, it fixes an issue that could prevent players from clearing text inputs with the Enter key.
All in all, this is a must-have update for everyone who wants to play The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess on PC. You can go ahead and download it from this link. At the end of the article, you can also find its full patch notes.
As I’ve said, you will need the North American (NTSC) or the European (PAL) GameCube ROM file of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess to run Dusklight. Otherwise, you won’t be able to play it. Right now, Dusklight does not support the Wii version. However, this may change in the future.
I also recommend downloading this HD Texture Pack for it. This pack brings 4K textures to the game. By using it, you will get a crisper and more detailed gaming experience. In my opinion, it’s a must for everyone who wants to play Dusklight.
Needless to say, we won’t allow any download links to the ROM file of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. So, don’t bother sharing one in the Comment section.
In case you are into projects like these, you can also download the unofficial PC port of Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Crash Team Racing, and Duke Nukem: Zero Hour. You can also play The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, Perfect Dark, and Jak & Daxter. And that’s not all of them. We also have the unofficial PC ports of Mario Party 4, Sonic Unleashed, Paper Mario 64, and Super Smash Bros 64.
Have fun!
