The Witcher 3 Will Get Path Tracing on PC This September

CD Projekt RED has announced a remastered version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. This remastered version will be free to all owners of the Complete Edition, and it will bring real-time Path Tracing on PC.

The Witcher 3 Remastered will support NVIDIA DLSS 4.5, AMD FSR 4.0, and Intel XeSS 2.0. It will also take advantage of DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction. As I said, the PC version will get exclusive support for real-time Path Tracing.

Onwers of weaker GPUs will also get some visual improvements. The devs have stated that they have updated a lot of textures, and they have reworked the game’s Global Illumination. They have also made improvements to Ray Tracing, GTAO, and they have added a new Shading Model. Plus, they have refined animations, and they have added a new Tone Mapper.

And that’s not all. The Witcher 3 Remastered will come with enhanced combat. There will be a new Skill Tree, and the devs have improved the traversal, movement, and horse handling systems. Moreover, monsters will be more challenging as the devs have enhanced their behavior.

The Witcher 3 Remastered will be available on September 29. Needless to say, we’ll benchmark its Path Tracing effects. So, let’s hope that the game will now come closer to what the devs intended to create. We’ve covered its downgrade-ation extensively. And now, after many years later, we might be able to play a game that can look almost as good as its pre-release trailers.

Enjoy the trailer and stay tuned for more!
