Bioshock: Infinite – SweetFX vs Vanilla Comparison

Bioshock Infinite v4
A lot of gamers believe that SweetFX is not worth your effort. Well, we are strongly against that logic. We believe that SweetFX can enhance each and every game, and since Bioshock: Infinite has just been released – and has a unique art style – we kind of wondered whether we could boost the game’s visuals a bit while retaining its wonderful art style. Torment: Tides of Numenera – First Screenshot Released

Torment Tides of Numenera
Great news for all Torment fans as inXile Entertainment has released the first screenshot of Torment: Tides of Numenera. According to the development team, this new Torment game aims for a 2.5D style. inXile aims to use 2D pre-rendered backgrounds with 3D characters and 3D lighting (that will be grounding the characters in the scene through dynamic lighting and some shadow casting). The game’s concept sounds interesting, so it remains to be seen whether inXile will be able to deliver. This isn’t an April’s fools joke, so go ahead and enjoy the screenshot after the jump. Tomb Raider v2

In addition, Nixxes Software has released a new update for the PC version of Tomb Raider. Unfortunately, no; there isn’t any fix for the game’s bugged areas and the team does not yet have a resolution for the players that are experiencing crashes and major graphical corruption on Nvidia’s hardware. Those updates will be auto-downloaded from Steam, and you can view their complete changelogs below. Continue reading Tomb Raider, Serious Sam 3 & Serious Sam HD: TSE Get New Patches

Hawken Showcases Incredible ‘Red Faction-ish’ Destruction With This New GDC 2013 Trailer

Hawken v2
Earlier this week, we presented you a mind-blowing video from Nvidia, showcasing the destruction that is possible via its rigid bodies simulation. Today, we are happy to present you a GDC 2013 trailer of Hawken, showcasing – almost – the same level of destruction via the same technique. And in all truthfulness, this looks bad-ass. Hell, even if you’re not a fan of Hawken, you’ll be utterly impressed by this new destruction system. In fact, this trailer reminded us of Red Faction’s destruction, bringing back memories of how we felt when we created our first big hole in Volition’s classic title. Enjoy the trailer after the jump! Battlefield 4’s Footage Was From A Pre-Alpha Build, Was Running At 3K Resolution

Battlefield 4 v2
A couple of days ago, we informed you about the GPU powering Battlefield 4’s gameplay footage. As we revealed back then, DICE took advantage of AMD’s upcoming dual-card, the AMD HD 7990, to showcase its title. We are pretty sure that a lot of you were – somehow – disappointed by this as an upcoming high-end dual card could mean that this title would struggle with older GPUs. However, that’s not the case as DICE has unveiled some new, interesting details about it. Continue reading Battlefield 4’s Footage Was From A Pre-Alpha Build, Was Running At 3K Resolution

Nvidia: PS4 & X720 are 3X slower than the GeForce Titan – AMD: We gave PS4 what Nvidia couldn’t

AMD vs Nvidia
Now this is great. Almost two weeks ago, Nvidia claimed that it was not worth investing on consoles and that was precisely why they did not bother with PS4 and X720. As Tony Tamasi, Senior VP of content and technology at Nvidia, stated back then, Nvidia came to the conclusion that it didn’t want to do the business at the price Sony was willing to pay. And as you’d expect, AMD decided to stand up and face Nvidia, claiming that they were able to offer PS4 the hardware Nvidia couldn’t.
