Donkey Kong Land feature

Donkey Kong Land PC Fan Remake Available for Download

Donkey Kong fans, get ready for a treat. YouTube’s ‘kasquez’ has released a fan remake of the classic Nintendo Game Boy game, Donkey Kong Land, for PC. This is perhaps one of the coolest things you’ll see today. So, make sure to grab it right now.

Donkey Kong Land Remake is a fan remake for PC of the original Donkey Kong Land, but with looks, sound and controls in the style of DKC. It features 30+ full-sized levels, tight controls, and a lot of secrets to uncover.

For those who did not know, Donkey Kong Land is a “special” port of the SNES DK game, Donkey Kong Country. The reason I call it “special” is because Rare made some changes to it. Since the Nintendo Game Boy could not handle a faithful port of the SNES game, the developers made changes so that it could run on Nintendo’s handheld.

Visually, this fan remake is closer to the original SNES version. And that’s something that a lot of DK fans will appreciate. It also opens the doors to possible mods. So, an HD Texture Pack (with assets looking similar to the 90s CG) could be possible.

As I’ve said before, I’d love to see a remake of Donkey Kong Country that looks like the 90s CG promo art. We’ve already gotten a glimpse of such a remake with these AI videos. So, let’s hope that someone will make this come true.

Those interested can go ahead and download this Donkey Kong Land PC Remake from here. I also suggest downloading it right now, as Nintendo will most likely shut it down. I’ve taken a look at it, and it does not require the original ROM file of Donkey Kong Land to run. In other words, it contains assets from the original game, and that’s something that could get its developer into trouble.

Speaking of fan remakes, you can download and play a Superman UE5 Demo, a Halo 3: ODST Remake, and a Spider-Man UE5 Demo. There’s also a fan-made version of STALKER in Unreal Engine 5. If you love old-school FPS games, you should check out this remake of the classic FPS Blood in Epic’s engine. For Mario fans, we have this cool Super Mario Galaxy Tech Demo in Unreal Engine 5. A couple of days ago, we also shared a fan remake of the first Metal Gear Solid game in Unity Engine.

And that’s not all. There is a cool remake of Halo: Combat Evolved’s Halo level in UE5 that you can download. Or how about this free Attack on Titan game? Then we have the fan remakes for Dino Crisis 2Super Mario Galaxy, and MediEvil 2. Plus, there is an amazing fan remake of Sonic Adventure 2, called Sonic Adventure 2 Redux. Oh, and let’s not forget the amazing ports of Skyrim and Oblivion.

Owners of high-end GPUs can also try these three tech demos. The first one features a Witcher-like environment. The second shows off a Rome Italian Town.  The third is the Venice Tech Demo we shared a few days ago. We also have a demo of King’s Field 2 in UE5, as well as a remake of Konami’s canceled PT. Finally, we have The Lord of the Rings: Conquest Reimagined in Unreal Engine 5, a remake of Flappy Bird, a demo for Need for Speed: Underground 2, and a Diablo 2 Remake Demo. They all look awesome, so be sure to give them a try.

Have fun!
