Stardock Games have released a new trailer for their upcoming Sins of a Solar Empire game. Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion comes with updated graphics engine with self-shadowing ships, up to 16X anisotropic filtering, updated weapon effects, all new technologies and balance of the TEC factions, Steam support for achievements, friends, game invites, automatic updates, as well as new ship movement system and performance optimizations and lots more. It’s almost here. The third part of Mass Effect 3 will be released in a few days and PC gamers can go ahead and pre-load it via Origin. The game is around 10GB in size and word has it that PC gamers will be able to unlock it earlier via VPN. That method worked fine with Syndicate, so we bet that it will also do the trick with BioWare’s title. A couple of months ago, modder ‘Starac’ released one of the best texture packs for Skyrim. Skyrim Realistic Overhaul looks astounding and the modder has just released some new screenshots for his upcoming update. Starac is working on Solitude and still has to finish Riften and Whiterun. You can find some updated textures for Solitude below. We’ve also included a comparison screenshot from Windhelm. On the left we have the vanilla shot and on the right the modded one. Now that’s a nice surprise. BioWare and Electronic Arts have released a new patch for Dragon Age 2. This patch will update your game’s version to 1.04 and comes with various general and quest fixes. The changelog contains some spoilers, so be sure to avoid it if you haven’t played the game yet. This new update will be auto-downloaded next time you start the Steam client. Let me start by saying that Starbreeze is a talented studio. After the amazing Chronicles of Riddick and the first Darkness game, we were expecting big things from them. However, something is really off with their latest games. The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena was not something special and Syndicate feels like a generic FPS that basically mixes Deus Ex: Human Revolution’s style and FEAR’s combat mechanics. But we are not here to judge its gameplay. And ironically, although the game feels like a big let down, its game engine is awesome and performs great on the PC. The latest issue of the GameInformer magazine came out and with it, we got some new details about Ubisoft’s upcoming Assassin’s Creed title. According to the magazine, Assassin’s Creed III will use a new game engine that will sport lots of NPCs simultaneously on screen, along with highly detailed face close-ups. Players will take the role of a new hero called Connor/Ratohnhake:ton, who has an English father and a Native American mother. Square Enix released a new trailer for their upcoming third person action game, Sleeping Dogs. Sleeping Dogs catapults players into the role of undercover cop Wei Shen, tasked with taking down one of the world’s most fearsome criminal organisations from the inside… the Hong Kong Triads. As players explore the bustling and crowded Hong Kong island, through its neon-lit side streets and sprawling street markets, an incredible story unfolds of loyalty and betrayal, where Wei begins to question his own motives as he is sucked in deeper than he could ever imagine. BioWare and Electronic Arts have released the launch trailer of Mass Effect 3. Mass Effect 3 thrusts players into an all-out war to save the galaxy from an ancient alien race known as the Reapers. Players will assume the role of Commander Shepard, a war-torn veteran who’s willing to do whatever it takes to eliminate this nearly unstoppable foe. I tell you, modders are crazy. Remember when Remedy announced that they would not release mod tools for the PC version of Alan Wake? A lot of gamers were disappointed with that statement, however modder ‘evin’ decided to go ahead and figure out a way to unlock the game’s data files.
