The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – New Screenshots Unveiled

CD Projekt RED has revealed some new screenshots for the third part of the ‘The Witcher’ series. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be powered by the REDengine 3 gane engine, and is planned for release on PC, PS4 and the next Xbox. The game is scheduled for a 2014 release, and our guess is that these screenshots are still with the old renderer (CDPR is currently working on a DX11 renderer that will be way better than what REDengine 2’s renderer is cabable of). Kotaku has unveiled some new and interesting information about the third part of the ‘The Witcher’ series. According to CD Projekt RED’s lead gameplay designer Maciej Szczesnik, head of marketing Michal Platkow-Gilewski, and CD Projekt Red Managing Director Adam Badowski, The Witcher 3 will be DRM-free, will feature an improved combat system, will be packed with a new animation system, and will be supported as much as The Witcher 2 was. CD Projekt RED: PC allows for more at the moment but that might change in the future

We’ve all been wondering what next-gen consoles will bring to the table, and according to CD Projekt RED, these new consoles will be more powerful than we initially thought. According to CD Projekt RED’s MD and studio head Adam Badowski next-gen consoles will most probably unify requirements, meaning that all versions will look really close to each other. Badowski confirmed that PC allows for more at the moment, however new platforms are stepping up and will – most probably – unify requirements for future games.

According to PCGH, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will support Nvidia’s PhysX technology, as well as DX11 features such as tessellation, Global Illumination and MSAA. According to the company, these shots are from an early build of the game and – ironically – looks better than most current triple-A titles. It’s no secret that CD Projekt RED is one of the most beloved PC developers out there. And while we are anxiously waiting for both The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk, CDPR revealed that the PC version of The Witcher 3 will be the definitive version of it. Yes, The Witcher 3 is announced for next-generation consoles and PC, and from this comment we can be sure that CDPR is developing primary on the PC and will be porting its title to consoles after the completion of the PC version. CD Projekt RED has officially announced the title of their next upcoming game: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Further, they’ve announced that this, the ultimate game in the series, will also be the final Witcher game from the studio. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt combines CD Projekt RED’s trademark decision-based storytelling flair with a living open world larger than any other in modern RPG history.
