Alan Wake – Graphical Differences Between the PC and the X360 Settings

Alan Wake PC is almost upon us, but have you ever wondered what has been changed or tweaked between the PC and the X360 version? Naturally, most of you think that the game’s resolution is the only thing changed. Well, you are wrong. There are some additional juicy differences between these two versions and Remedy’s Markus has revealed them. Shadows, SSAO, Volumetric Lights, GodRay and LOD distance have been either improved or added to the PC, so keep reading to find out what has been changed. Alan Wake – PC vs X360 Comparison Video

YouTube’s member, ‘shinnntube’, went ahead and made a comparison video between the PC and the X360 version. Although the preview version does not include all the re-touched textures that Remedy has added to the game, we can clearly see a better terrain and environment on the PC. Alan Wake’s coat also looks better than the one found in the X360 and generally speaking, there is a noticeable improvement in the game’s graphics. Alan Wake PC is slated for a February 16th release. Alan Wake PC retail is dated for a March 2nd release; Limited Edition detailed

Here is some good news for those wishing to purchase the retail version of Alan Wake PC. According to Nordic Games, the game’s publisher, the retail version of Alan Wake PC will be hitting online and retail stores in March 2nd in Europe. No word yet for the release date of the North American version of the retail but we can asume that it will be around that time. Alan Wake – PC vs X360 Comparison Teaser Image; PC shows noticeable graphical improvements

Admit it. Most of you, PC gamers were simply expecting a small graphical increase over the X360 version of Alan Wake, right? Well, guess again. Remedy’s Markus has released a teaser comparison between the X360 version and the PC version (1080p in high detail) and as you can see, the PC version has noticeable improvements in textures, shader effects and LOD detail. Alan Wake PC Details – Multi-GPUs are not recommended, 7970 able to handle 3-screen mode well

Alan Wake PC is coming in two weeks and we have some brand new information on it. First and foremost, those screenshots that were posted yesterday were from an earlier build and didn’t feature some re-worked textures. This is pretty evident at the ground textures that are blurry and according to Remedy’s Markus, the final build will look even better. Alan Wake PC is coming on February 16th; new PC screenshots released

The time you’ve all been waiting has finally come. Remedy Entertainment announced today that Alan Wake will be available on PCs through Steam on February 16th and soon afterwards through other popular digital channels. Additionally, a boxed retail version of the game is coming soon. Steam pricing is confirmed as follows: $29.99 (game + DLCs) and $34.99 (LCE). Alan Wake PC promises to take advantage of quad-cores, comes with Havok physics

Our dear friends at PCGamesHardware have interviewed Remedy’s Markus Maki. According to Markus, Alan Wake PC takes advantage of quad-cores and occasionally, the game uses more than 4 threads. However, make no mistake here. The engine will not scale that well beyond four cores. Markus claimed that a quad-core PC features ‘a lot of power, and the engine is pretty efficient‘. We’re really curious to find out whether or not those claims are true, so you can expect a PC Performance Analysis when the game is actually released. Behold, Alan Wake PC in all its 3D Surround glory

Alan Wake PC is almost a month away and Remedy has shared some 3D Surround screenshots from it. As stated some days ago, Alan Wake will be supporting Nvidia’s 3D Vision and – obviously – will also support its 3D Surround capabilities. And we seriously can’t wait to get our hands on it. According to Remedy, stereoscopic 3D will be performance heavy, therefore a high end GPU such as the GeForce 580GTX and moderate graphics settings are recommended. Alan Wake is coming to the PC this February, works well with Nvidia’s 3D Vision, will support Windows XP

PC gamers, here is something special for you. Remedy has just released the FAQ for Alan Wake PC and get ready everyone because the game will hit Steam this February. Yeap, Remedy has spilled the beans about its release date, as we previously knew that the game would hit the PC the first quarter of 2012. Moreover, Remedy revealed that the game is compatible with Nvidia’s 3D Vision and that they are doing their best to support Windows XP. This means that the game will run in DX9, but will require a DX10/11 card for its additional raw power. Alan Wake PC will ‘unofficially’ require at least an AMD 2900XT/3800 or an Nvidia 8600GT

As we’ve informed you earlier last week, we’re expecting Alan Wake’s PC FAQ this week and although it hasn’t been released yet, Remedy’s Markus has ‘unofficially’ revealed the minimum GPU requirements of the game. According to Markus, Alan Wake PC will require at least an AMD 2900XT/3800 or an Nvidia 8600GT GPU for low settings and a 1024×768 resolution.
