First Details Unveiled For The Next Hitman Game, Will Feature “Huge, Checkpoint-free, Sandbox Levels”

In an open letter to all Hitman fans, IO Interactive has unveiled the first details for the next Hitman title. According to the development team, the new Hitman game will be coming on PC and next-gen consoles, and will feature huge, checkpoint-free, sandbox levels. IO Interactive claimed that it’s going back to the roots of the Hitman franchise, and that the new Hitman game will have an open, non-linear level design. Hitman Absolution – Over Six Million People Have Played It

IO Interactive revealed today that over six million people have enjoyed its latest Hitman game, Hitman: Absolution. To be more precise, 6,112,047 people in total have played Hitman: Absolution and over 9.5 million contracts have been played. New Hitman: Absolution Update Comes With Performance Enhancements

Square Enix and Nixxes Software have released a new PC update for Hitman: Absolution. According to its changelog, this patch offers performance enhancements on various hardware configurations. We’ve already seen that Absolution had some optimization issues, therefore it will be interesting to see whether Nixxes has addressed them or not. Nixxes Software and IO Interactive have released a new update for the PC version of Hitman: Absolution. According to its changelog, this patch adds an option to either lower or disable the game’s Bloom effect, improves – slightly – the general performance, and adjusts the game’s difficulty levels. Nixxes Software and Square Enix have released the first PC patch for Hitman: Absolution. According to its release notes, this patch enables DX10 owners to use the simplest version of the Depth Of Field effect, fixes various startup issues, and addresses all problems with the Sniper Challenge Unlocks not carrying over into Hitman: Absolution. Hitman: Absolution – PC Performance Analysis

Ah, Hitman: Absolution. A Square Enix game that is ported to the PC by Nixxes. Awesome, right? After all, Nixxes was behind the PC version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, a version that featured a lot of graphical options, a FOV slider, and took advantage of quad-cores. In all seriousness (and despite the fact that there was an annoying stuttering effect that was later fixed), Deus Ex: Human Revolution is a great PC port. Therefore, we were expecting Hitman: Absolution to blow us away. However, it did not. And did you know that the PC version suffers from console optimizations? Oh, you didn’t know that, right?
