Half Life 3 v2
The entire Internet was blown away yesterday when a mysterious update for Half Life 2 got out. That update messed up the game, turning all voices into Korean. Naturally, a lot of people thought that Valve has launched an ARG for Half Life 3, especially after a – possible – hint that was featured in the PC Gamer magazine, something that was strengthened by the latest tweet from Valve itself. Well, unfortunately everyone, there is no ARG. Valve’s Korean message did not contain any secret messages after all, PC Gamer admitted that its image was nothing more than a joke and Valve’s Marc Laidlaw confirmed that the update was something that Valve has been doing this for a while as a necessary housekeeping. Are these concept arts from Valve’s ‘Year 2008’ plans of Half Life 2: Episode Three?

Now here is something interesting for speculation. The FB page of ValveTime.net (main site is currently down mind you so you won’t be able to access it) has posted some concept arts of Half Life 2: Episode Three. It is said that those concept arts are leaked from year 2008 and as we can see, they definitely have a Half Life feel to it. In these concept arts, we can see Alyx, a Combine Soldier, some other characters and one of the game’s environments. Now these could very well be some fan-made concepts – even though Steam forums moderators claim that they are indeed original Half-Life project artworks – so take them with a grain of salt. Still, they seem interesting and we thought it would be cool to share them with you. Special thanks to Insomnia.gr member ‘Praetorian’ for spotting them. Enjoy! Rumor: Half-Life 2: Episode Three Leaked via GameStop?

An interesting new entry appeared on GameStop’s catalogue. According to the ‘PowerUp Reward’ section of the nationwide retailer of computer and console video games, Half-Life 2: Episode Three is happening. GameStop has added a page for it (which is obviously a placeholder) and Reddit’s user ‘StillDefective’ has captured a screenshot from it. As you can see, there isn’t even a cover for it, so we can assume that it won’t be released anytime soon. The big question though is why GameStop added it in the first place. According to StillDefective, this page can be found here. You can view the image below, but take it with a grain salt. Consider it a rumor for the time being. Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
