As we’ve informed you, Black Box was considering removing the idiotic 30fps lock that was present in the PC version of Need For Speed: The Run and that time has finally come. Oh yeah, PC gamers can finally enjoy NFS: The Run with a higher framerate as Black Box and EA have released a patch for the game that unlocks it. And get this; the patch comes with the Signature Edition Booster Pack cars for free to all PC gamers. Hell yeah. Mass Effect 3 – Voice Cast Reveal + New Screenshots

BioWare has unveiled today the cast for 2012’s first blockbuster game, Mass Effect 3. The ensemble will see the return of fan favorites, including Martin Sheen as the Illusive Man, Mark Meer and Jennifer Hale as Male and Female Shepard and will introduce Freddie Prinze, Jr. as James Vega, a marine who will help Commander Shepard take Earth back. Remember that mind-blowing RendeZook video of Battlefield 3? You know, the one that a player exits his plane in mid-air, destroys an enemy airplane with a rocket, and then re-enters it? DICE’s Rendering Architect to talk in GDC2012; new terrain talk about what DICE has been working on since for FB2

GDC2012 starts in almost 5 weeks and DICE’s rendering architect, Johan Andersson, has revealed that DICE will attend and he will talk about the terrain system in Frostbite 2 as it was applied in Battlefield 3. According to GDC’s schedule, session is partitioned into three parts. The first part consists the scalability aspects, while the second will be focussed towards workflow aspects and describe how DICE has achieved full in-game realtime editing. Weekly CryEngine 3 Gallery [January 22nd – 28th]; LOTR’s Mordor comes to CryEngine 3

Okay, now that was unexpected. Mapper Chrome235 has revealed a screenshot that showcases how Mordor and LOTR would look like in CryEngine 3. This is basically an artwork – or a wallpaper – that borrows some assets from the movies. In other words, this is not a custom map. Still, it’s pretty amazing and makes us wish for a LOTR game, powered by Crytek’s engine. I seriously can’t believe that this cover of Battlefield 3’s main theme has passed unnoticed. And you can bet your ass that everyone would be talking about it in case it was done by a girl. Which is really disappointing because, this cover my friends, is just epic. This is by far one of the best covers – for any game – I have ever heard and proves how talented this fella actually is.
