Electronic Arts and LucasArts announced that the first digital expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republic, Rise of the Hutt Cartel, is now available for players worldwide. Available for £11.99, or at half price for current Subscribers (£5.99), players can extend their personal Star Wars saga, with exciting new playable missions, new features and a striking new planet, Makeb. Playing through Rise of the Hutt Cartel will raise the game’s level cap to 55 and allow players to access a host of new, higher-level group content in the recently released Game Update 2.0: Scum and Villainy. Star Wars: The Old Republic – Rise of the Hutt Cartel Expansion Coming On April 14th

Lucas Arts and EA have revealed that the first paid expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republich will be available for purchase on April 14th. The expansion will be priced at $20 for non-subscribers and $10 to subscribers. Ironically, the game itself is a free-to-play title, yet people are asked to buy this expansion. Oh boy, what next? Star Wars: The Old Republic – Update 1.7 Gets A Sneak Peak Video

Electronic Arts has announced that Star Wars: The Old Republic’s Update 1.7 is coming soon, and will give players brand new in-game content to experience including Relics of the Gree, a limited time live event occurring across the galaxy, and the Galactic Reputation system, an exciting new way for players progress their characters. BioWare and LucasArts announced today that players will face-off against the ruthless Hutt Cartel in the first Digital Expansion: Rise of the Hutt Cartel, coming Spring 2013. Beginning today, Star Wars: The Old Republic Subscribers can Pre-Order the Digital Expansion: Rise of the Hutt Cartel for only £5.99, 50% of the regular price. Free-to-Play Players can purchase the Digital Expansion for £11.99. Any player who pre-orders before January 7, 2013 will receive five days of Early Access* to the new fully-voiced story-driven content. Star Wars: The Old Republic Goes Free-To-Play On November 15th

Electronic Arts announced today that the global launch date of the Star Wars: The Old Republic Free-to-Play option will be November 15, 2012. This release will be simultaneous across all of the territories and countries where The Old Republic is available. Two weeks ago, we wondered whether EA was to be blamed for the resignation of BioWare’s founders, Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk. Interestingly enough, today NowGamer has unveiled an interview in which Trent Oster suggested that the negative fan reaction to Mass Effect 3 and Star Wars: The Old Republic were things that pushed Ray and Greg into leaving the gaming industry. Electronic Arts has released a new trailer for its new content update of Star Wars: The old Republic, Terror from Beyond. In “Terror from Beyond”, you will be called upon to face a mysterious new threat that’s emerged from one of the most obscure places in the galaxy: the Gree planet of Asation. Star Wars: The Old Republic Goes Free-To-Play This Fall

BioWare announced today that it will be expanding the story-driven, massively multiplayer online game Star Wars: The Old Republic by adding a new Free-to-Play option this Fall. This option will give players access to each of the eight iconic Star Wars character class storylines, all the way up to level 50, with certain restrictions. Unlimited game access, including new higher-level game content and new features, will be made available through individual purchases or through a subscription option.
