Today we bring you new shots from works of modders and 3D artists Insulaner, magictricknick2, Synce, Team Caravan, TeamCosmoBear, Trappsteg and uk-stryder. In addition, we’ve featured a video from modder ‘para vach’ that showcases a ‘fake’ dynamic cloud system. The highlight of this week is the Mafia and the countryside shots. 3D artist Insulaner and his friends have created a next-gen version of Mafia (for Polygon’s Escape contest) that looks spectacular. Team Caravan, on the other hand, created a countryside that reminded us of Fallout, proving that Crytek’s proprietary engine is capable of offering truly next-generation visuals. DICE Will Show Something New – not related to Battlefield – At This Year’s E3

Now this is really interesting. As we’ve informed you a couple of hours ago, EA Sports will be showcasing its next-generation engine at this year’s E3. Well, it seems that there was something more hinted by Frank Gibeau that – at first – passed under our radar. EA Sports Will Showcase Its Next-Generation Engine At This Year’s E3

During EA’s investor conference call – that took place today – the big company revealed that its next-generation engine that will be powering its upcoming sports titles will be unveiled at this year’s E3.  As EA’s Frank Gibeau stated, Frostbite 3 and the next-gen engine that will be powering EA’s sports titles are ‘fully functional right now and powering the games you’ll see at E3 in June. The Sims 4 Officially Announced, Coming To PC & Mac In 2014 [UPDATE]

And it’s official. Electronic Arts and Maxis have officially revealed that The Sims 4 is currently under development and is planned for a 2014 release on PC and Mac. EA and Disney come to an agreement; EA will develop and publish games based on the Star Wars franchise

Get excited everyone. Okay, some of you won’t be happy but this is at least a good thing, right? Walt Disney and Electronic Arts announced today a new multi-year exclusive licensing agreement to develop and publish globally new games based on Star Wars characters and storylines. In other words, there is still hope for a new Battlefront game, as well as the completion of Star Wars 1313. Battlefield 4 – Yet Another New Screenshot

Seems that DICE and EA won’t stop teasing us with BF4. The developer and the publisher of this highly anticipated first-person shooter has released another new screenshot, showcasing the great visuals that their Frostbite 3.5 engine is capable of. As you may have guessed, this image is – obviously – from the PC version of BF4. Battlefield 4 is planned for a Fall 2013 release on current-generation consoles and PC. Enjoy! Today we bring you new shots from modders EliteGhost, the_grim, Exer, iSqueezee, maxmead, silentss, TheMagnumman357 and ultranew_b. The highlight of this week is the ocean recreation via CryEngine 3. As we can see, some of the modders tried to get as close to the real water as possible. We’ve also included some videos from the indie CE3 title StoneRage, a HD FX/Particles mods that is a must-have (can be downloaded from here) and a video demonstration (from modder Mike Geebus) of what CryEngine 3’s modded ocean can look like. New Battlefield 4 Screenshot Released

Battlefield 4 v2DICE and Electronic Arts have released a new screenshot for Battlefield 4. Powered by the advanced technology of DICE’s proprietary Frostbite 3 engine, Battlefield 4 promises to offer players a glimpse into the future of interactive entertainment – a future that is more human, dramatic and believable than anything before it. The game is planned for a Fall 2013 release on PC, current and next-generation consoles. In other news, a BF4 survey suggests that dinosaurs might be coming to DICE’s FPS as a DLC. Today we bring you new shots from the works of CryEngine 3 modders Mazila, the_grim, NanoTurtle, Maximum-Dev, EliteGhost, Zepic and magictricknick2. The highlight of this week is Mazila’s Tron mod that recreates the bike battle from the movie (you can also see a video from it, though its framerate is a bit low). EA Layoffs Spotted, No Comment On Shutting Down EA Partners

Yesterday, EA announced that it has reduced its workforce in various locations, with rumors suggesting that around 100 employees were laid off. This announcement came after a rumor that its EA Partners program will be shut down, and despite EA not commenting on that front, the company has closed two other studios (PopCap Vancouver and Quicklime Games).
