Tomb Raider’s original composer on TR4: “the whole of the original Core team had practically left”

Tomb Raider Lara Pose

It’s always great to dig up the past and uncover things that never crossed your mind. Tomb Raider is a franchise that was introduced with Playstation 1 and was developed by Core Team. However, that team was merely a shadow of its former self by the time it was developing the fourth part of this IP. As Nathan McCree – Tomb Raider’s original composer – revealed in an interview with Platform-Online, the whole original team had practically left by then. The game that would make us John Romero’s bitches is now available on Steam

Daikatana

Back in 1999, most PC gamers were looking forward to a game that was being created by one of Doom’s developers. A game that promised to be better than both Doom and Half Life. A game that would make us John Romero’s bitches. Daikatana was its name, and is now considered one of the worst FPS titles ever released on the PC. Daikatana was released in 2000, was powered by the Quake II engine, was featuring awful graphics for its time, was plagued with all sorts of technical issues, and was simply a booooooring, unimpressive, generic title that was hyped to death by the media. So, if you’re a newcomer to the wonderful world of PC gaming, it’s time to find out why most die-hard PC fans hate it. Thief Gold is now available on Good Old Games

Remember when we predicted that Thief would be coming on Good Old Games? And it’s true that we were kind of disappointed when we found out that the hidden hero that was hinted in GoG’s announcement was not Garrett, but we knew that he would find his way to CD Projekt’s distribution service. After all, this is a true masterpiece and deserves to be in every digital distribution service. And look and behold; Thief Gold is right now available on GoG. Hell yeah. Fan attempts to remake Final Fantasy 7 with the Unreal Engine

Now that’s simply amazing. A fan went ahead and used the Unreal Engine in order to remake one of the best RPGs from Square. Oh yeah my dear FF7 fans. Even though Square is not remaking our beloved RPG, we can now see what Final Fantasy 7 would look like with the Unreal Engine. Now keep in mind that this is a one-man project, so don’t expect polished animations and such things. As the creator stated, FFVII REMAKE has been created for two main reasons: to learn how to create a videogame and to pay tribute to one of the best RPGs ever created, which most of us love and admire. The idea is to show its 2D world in 3D in a short demo, trying to keep it as accurate and respectul as possible to the original. You can find screenshots and videos after the jump so hurry up! A tribute to Deus Ex: The Best Of JC Denton

Since Human Revolution is out now, we felt the need to give you something from the original game. So, here are JC Denton’s best lines and yeah, we now know the character that inspired CSI Miami’s Horatio Caine. Simply brilliant lines and by far the best we’ve ever heard in a video game. This is a great video that will make you laugh hard and is a worth tribute to the first – and legendary – Deus Ex. Enjoy everyone! Continue reading A tribute to Deus Ex: The Best Of JC Denton

Deus Ex: New Vision Released

Four years ago, I was quite excited about a new mod that would replace Deus Ex’s blurry textures with some remastered, new high-resolution ones. It looked great and had a lot of potential and I was really looking forward to. But as with most ambitious mods, it got delayed and there has never been an official release date. It really reminded of what happened with DaniJ’s 3D models for jDoom that were never released as a full, complete pack. Continue reading Deus Ex: New Vision Released
