PlayerUnknown’s: Battlegrounds leaves Early Access on December 20th

Bluehole has announced that PlayerUnknown’s: Battlegrounds will leave Early Access and fully release on December 20th. Bluehole also revealed that Miramar, the new desert map for the game, will go live today. PC gamers will be able to playtest this map prior to the game’s official release. PlayerUnknown’s: Battlegrounds will get more cosmetic microtransactions

In a developer Q&A at G-Star Global Game Exhibition in Korea, CEO and lead game designer at Bluehole, Changhan Kim, revealed that PlayerUnknown’s: Battlegrounds will most likely receive more/new cosmetic microtransactions. Changhan stated that the dev team does not plan to add any pay-to-win mechanics. However, more cosmetic microtransactions will be coming to it after its full release. And the battle for the best battle royale game has heated up. A couple of minutes ago, Epic Games revealed that Fortnite: Battle Royale passed ten million total players. Last week, we informed you about PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds surpassing one million concurrent players. As we stated back then, PUBG was really close to the highest Steam record for concurrent players that was set by DOTA 2. And today, that record has been broken. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds – Latest update improves performance on low-end systems, adds Foggy weather

Bluehole Studio has announced that the September update for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will go live on test servers today, and revealed its complete changelog. According to the release notes, this update improves performance on low-end PCs by optimizing buildings, optimizes shadows (resulting in better performance on a variety of PC configurations), as well as client and server performance when there are multiple vehicles in a close vicinity.
