Are we that desperate for Half-Life 3 or is Valve truly hinting towards a 2012 reveal?

Man, this simply can’t be a simple coincidence. It’s pretty much clear that most of us want to see Half-Life 3 and it’s true that Valve has been hinting for it, but is that all we got? Apparently not as all hell has broken loose these past days. Forget the HL3 T-Shirt and the fact that Gabe Newell – that’s according to an insider so take it with a grain of salt – has given the green light to Valve’s employees to start hinting about the next Half-Life title. Yeah, those are quite good enough in order to assume that we’ll have some news about HL3 in 2012 but Valve themselves has given us lots of little hints and easter eggs these past days. The evolution of Crysis’s lighting; new lighting and shaders boost the game’s visuals to new levels

There is no denying that Crysis’ vanilla lighting looks a bit dated nowadays. And although you can tweak the SSAO and bring to the table some amazing results, Crytek’s member ‘Wulfen’ uploaded a video that shows off his new lighting system and the amazing combination of it with Cry-Styves’ Shaders. This combo seems quite demanding – if we can judge by the footage that is choppy, though we don’t know the user’s test system – but it surely looks sexy. This lighting/shader combo boosts Crysis visuals to a whole new level, so be sure to check this out! Rocksteady is working on a new PC patch for Batman: Arkham City

It seems that Rocksteady is currently working on a new PC patch for Batman: Arkham City, as Steam had accidentally released yesterday its preliminary version. So, if you were unlucky enough to try and play your game, you’d notice major game-breaking issues. Moreover, GFWL was not working properly with that preliminary patch and the game was – pretty much – unplayable. Naturally, Steam released a rollback update and the game is now back to its previous, stable state. Continue reading Rocksteady is working on a new PC patch for Batman: Arkham City
