YouTube’s member ‘SirCrest’ has created an interesting comparison video between the original mod project and the fully fledged commercial remake of Dear Esther. Developed by The Chinese Room and the talented Robert Briscoe, Dear Esther is a ghost story, told using first-person gaming technologies. Hilarious take on Prince of Persia; Real Prince of Persia Parody

Prince of Persia was such a classic title but who can forget that awful stopping animation, right? Or the fact that you could die so easily from a fall. Therefore, it comes as no surprise to see a parody about it. Karahat is a new Israeli comedy group that went ahead and created the following real-life parody for this classic and they’ve managed to nail every aspect of the game. Alan Wake PC Performance Analysis

Alan Wake is a game that a lot of PC gamers have been waiting for. Some people think that the game changed from an open-world title to a linear horror action adventure due to X360’s exclusivity, but that is not true. First,  we’ve seen open-world titles in X360 so Remedy wouldn’t have any – technical – issue with developing such a title for Microsoft’s console. Truth is that the open-world tech demo simply didn’t work. It was cool but as a horror game, it just couldn’t work. Therefore, Remedy decided to make it more linear and offer the experience they have been targeting for all this time. Quick forward two years and here we are, with its PC version finally hitting our platform. Starbreeze admits that it wanted more time with Syndicate, still proud of the end result

If there is one thing we hate in the gaming industry, that’s definitely when publishers are pushing developers hard to hit their deadlines. Publishers should give developers the freedom to create whatever they have in mind, otherwise the end result could turn out to be mediocre, unpolished and horribly rushed out. And it seems that the new Syndicate could suffer from a rushed development as the game’s lead co-op programmer, Lars Magnus Lang, admitted that the company could actually done more if they were given an extra six months. Alan Wake PC – First patch will address SLI issues and mouse acceleration/smoothing

Alan Wake PC has been released and Remedy is already looking into the various bugs/issues that have not been fixed yet. As we’ve told you, SLI is broken and although Nvidia have stated that they have a proper SLI profile for it, the green team decided to not release it as there are some SLI issues with the game’s engine. According to Remedy’s Markus, the company knows about what needs to be done to resolve those artifacts, but it will some extra time to fix them. Primal Carnage – DirectX 11 Preview Video

Primal Carnage is an online multiplayer game of dinosaur vs. human and EVGA has revealed a new preview video for it. This preview shows the T-Rex model rendered in DirectX 11 vs. DirectX 9. DX11 tessellation is used on the T-Rex model as well as the ground, also Real Time Subsurface Scattering is used on the T-Rex skin in DX11 mode. Finally, Bokeh DOF is applied to the scene. Weekly CryEngine 3 Gallery [February 12th – 18th]

This week, Crysis 2 modders have been experimenting with various TOD’s and as we can see below, they came up with some interesting shots. Cube World – Fan-made Gameplay Action Trailer

Man, Cube World looks awesome. I know that I’ve said and before but I really need to say it one more time. Cube World looks astounding. And Wollay should feel proud for this fan-made trailer that is created by NotCasuals. In fact, this trailer alone will make you wish you could play Wollay’s masterpiece.
