Silent Hill Downpour feature

Someone is working on a native PC version of Silent Hill: Downpour

In 2012, Konami released Silent Hill: Downpour on PS3 and Xbox 360. Developed by Vatra Games, this Silent Hill game used Unreal Engine 3, and it was never released on PC. But now, over ten years later, an indie dev is working on a native PC version of it.

As Indie_RU specifically said, this native PC version is not based on any recompilation. Instead, the dev has transferred and adapted all the content from the console to the PC on his own.

This is a remarkable achievement. And, to prove his claim, Indie_RU released a trailer for it. In this PC trailer, we get to see some of the PC features, like unlocked resolutions and framerates. The PC version will also support controllers, as well as keyboard and mouse. At least that’s what I can assume from a scene that shows a menu with proper keyboard keys.

There is currently no ETA for when this unofficial native PC version of Silent Hill: Downpour will come out. The trailer ends with a “Soon” message, so I can assume that at some point we’ll get another trailer with its release date.

Now, I know Silent Hill: Downpour was not up to the quality of the first three Silent Hill games. Still, I’m certain that some Silent Hill PC fans would like to play it, especially after enjoying Silent Hill 2 Remake and Silent Hill f.

As always, I’ll be sure to keep you posted about this project. Until then, you can go ahead and watch its trailer.

Before closing, here are some other unofficial PC ports of games that were only released on consoles. Contrary to this PC port, though, these are all based on recompilations.

Anyway, you can download unofficial PC ports of Super Mario 64Mario Kart 64Crash Team Racing, and Duke Nukem: Zero Hour. You can also play The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of TimeMajora’s MaskPerfect Dark, and Jak & Daxter. And that’s not all of them. We also have the unofficial PC ports of Mario Party 4Sonic UnleashedGoldenEye 007The Legend of Zelda: Twilight PrincessSilent Hill, and Super Smash Bros 64.

Stay tuned for more!
