Modder ‘checker90’ has released a new fan expansion for Starfield that aims to overhaul New Atlantis. The mod was built from the ground up to bring new locations, breathtaking architecture, and a whole new atmosphere to the heart of the United Colonies. So, let’s take a look at it.
New Atlantis – A Living Capital aims to do more than give the city a new look. It adds new roads, walking paths, and whole new areas. The goal is to make New Atlantis feel bigger, more alive, and more fun to explore.
The first beta brings several big changes to the city. New roads give players more ways to drive the REV-8 and other vehicles. New paths also make it easier to walk around and explore on foot. These changes help link the city and make it feel more like one large, busy place.
The expansion also adds a water-cleaning system. It helps clear the lake and remove the algae that once made the water look dirty. This gives the city a cleaner look and adds more care to its world.
One of the biggest changes is the addition of three new districts. Each has its own look and feel. Players can visit Arcadia, Haven, and Vista, giving them more places to explore in New Atlantis.
The mod also adds many small details across the city. These changes help make it feel like a real capital, rather than just a place to visit between missions.
New Atlantis: A Living Capital is still in beta, and more work is planned. The creator hopes to release the full version soon, but the current plan is to do so after Beta 5. For now, Beta 1 offers the first look at a much larger and more lively New Atlantis.

Speaking of Starfield, here are some other mods that you can download. This mod adds cool quests when you explore new places. There’s also a mod that makes dead bodies move realistically, as well as a mod that aims to overhaul the game’s enemy AI. In September 2023, we shared the Disk Cache Enabler Mod, which helps reduce how much space the game uses on your computer. Additionally, there is an 80GB 4K Texture Pack you can download. Halo fans can use this mod to play as the Master Chief himself. In April 2024, we also shared a DLC-sized expansion mod that allows you to create whole colonies with giant mechs, defense turrets, a farming system, and more. Oh, and if you don’t like the default camera views in dialogue, there’s a mod to disable them.
Sprinting Stuttering Fix is another cool mod that stops the annoying stutters when you run. Then, you can grab this mod that makes the game run smoother by fixing a bunch of scripts. Plus, I highly recommend using the Seamless City Interiors Mod. You can also get StarFinance, which brings an advanced financial system. And don’t forget these two must-have mods that make the game look and feel better with a new User Interface and cooler Particle Effects. On the other hand, this mod lets you travel between planets in real-time. We also have this mod, which adds 50 new space encounters to the game. This other mod adds 300 new repeatable sandbox missions. And let’s not forget the Fleet Expansion Mod. Finally, this mod brings a dynamic weather system into the game, and this mod improves the behavior of NPCs.
Have fun!
