Tomb Raider – First PC Update Finally Released

Tomb Raider v2
Good news for all Tomb Raider PC fans as Nixxes has released the first patch for it. This is the same patch that was introduced later this week, but was almost immediately taken down due to some stability issues. According to its changelog, this patch addresses some stability and startup issues on machines that have both Intel and NVIDIA graphics hardware, and comes with small improvements to TressFX hair rendering. Sniper: Ghost Warrior Sales Are Over 3 Million

Sniper Ghost Warrior
Even though City Interactive has not revealed the latest sales numbers of Sniper: Ghost Warrior, GameStop revealed that City Interactive’s first sniper title has managed to sell over 3 million copies worldwide. Naturally, this cannot come close to the sales of other triple-A, however we have to keep in mind that City Interactive was never a company as ‘powerful’ as EA or Ubisoft. In other words, it’s a pretty impressive number for a new IP. Continue reading Sniper: Ghost Warrior Sales Are Over 3 Million

Darkwood – Pre-Alpha Gameplay Trailer

Darkwood
Acid Wizard Studio (a team of 3 people from Poland) has released a pre-alpha gameplay trailer for its upcoming title, Darkwood. According to the team, Darkwood is a top-down, oldschool survival horror set in a procedurally generated, open world, and features RPG and roguelike elements, with intense combat and a eerie atmosphere. Darkwood features a hardcore gameplay as it does not provide hand holding, tooltips or linear paths. Players will have to think, learn and adapt in order to survive. The game also comes with permadeath, meaning that if you die, your saved games will get deleted and you will have to start over. It looks pretty cool, so make sure to watch the trailer below. DayZ Standalone – 20 Minutes Of Gameplay Footage

DayZ mod v3
Dean “Rocket” Hall has released a new devblog for the standalone version of DayZ, showcasing 20 minutes of gameplay footage. DayZ Standalone features better visuals than its mod counterpart, though we can see all known ‘issues’ that are present in Bohemia’s ArmA titles – like low-res blurry textures at the distance and flickering objects. Naturally, some of them will be ironed while other won’t be fixed or tweaked (a ‘noisy’ texture would be ideal for the distant textures. After all, that was the technique that a lot of Skyrim modders followed in order to provide a better IQ). Still, DayZ is not popular for its visuals, but for its atmosphere and gameplay mechanics. And thankfully, this standalone version looks even better than its mod version. DayZ Standalone is planned for release later this year. Enjoy!
