CRYENGINE – Photogrammetry Fan Tech Tree Demo Released

Photogrammetry is a technique that we hope to see in more and more games. Thanks to it, video-games can look spectacular. Some games using it are The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Get Even and Star Wars: Battlefront. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Patch 1.08.1 Now Available

CD Projekt RED has released yet another patch for the PC version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. This patch is 4GB in size on GOG and around 20-100MB on Steam. From the looks of it, this is a hotfix that introduces a retro-active fix and mod support (do note that the game’s Modkit is not included, you have to download it manually from NexusMods). Ubisoft Details AnvilNext Improvements – 10X More Objects, “1-2 Orders of magnitude less drawcalls”

During this year’s SIGGRAPH, Ulrich Haar and Sebastian Aaltonen talked about the latest iteration of the AnvilNext Engine that was powering Assassin’s Creed: Unity. According to the devs, AnvilNext was able to push 10X more objects/instances than previous Assassin’s Creed games. ARK: Survival Evolved Modding Tools Now Available, Survival of the Fittest Mod Also Available

Studio Wildcard today released the ARK Dev Kit, a streamlined version of the UE4 Editor to simplify the creation and sharing process of mods for ARK: Survival Evolved. It is available to download now for free via the Epic Games Launcher. Creative souls can easily generate their own ARK items, weapons, creatures, maps and game modes to share with fellow survivors online. Descent: Underground – Pre-Alpha Version Released To Backers

Descendent Studios today announced – via a press release – that the first public release of its reboot of the classic 1990s FPS, Descent. The pre-alpha version of Descent: Underground is now available to some backers of the successful Kickstarter project.
