And here comes another unofficial PC port of another SNES game. This time, we have an unofficial PC version of EarthBound. EarthBound is a turn-based RPG that came out on the SNES in 1994. And now, PC gamers can experience it on their platform.
The port supports both keyboard and controller input. It also has audio, save support, and a Settings window. You can save your game with the normal in-game save system, and your saves are stored outside the main game folder.
Phase Distorter also adds support for modern screens. You can play at 16:9, 21:9, or 32:9. The wider views show more of the game world while keeping the original pixel art. There is also an optional CRT filter. You can turn it on or off.
The port also has settings for display options and fullscreen mode. You can switch between EarthBound and Mother 2 from the Settings menu.
Do note that this unofficial PC port is still in the alpha stage. Because of this, you may run into some bugs. In other words, this version does not represent the quality of the final version. The creator plans to keep working on the port and improve it over time.
I am pointing this out because many people see an unofficial PC port and assume it is already a final 1.0 release. That is not the case. These projects often need more time and work before they are fully complete.
Anyway, those interested can download the PC port from this link. As always, it does not contain any in-game assets. This means that you’ll have to provide your own ROM to play it. Phase Distorter supports the US English version of EarthBound or the Japanese version of Mother 2.
In case you are into unofficial PC ports of console-exclusive games, you might want to try the following ones. Right now, you can download the unofficial PC ports of Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Crash Team Racing, and Duke Nukem: Zero Hour. You can also play The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Majora’s Mask, Perfect Dark, and Jak & Daxter. These past few daysst couple of days I also shared the unofficial PC versions of The Simpsons Game, Peter Jackson’s King Kong, and Super Mario Sunshine.
Furthermore, Brian Tate has brought the three classic SNES Donkey Kong Country games to PC. For our SNES fans, we also have a PC port of Star Fox. We also got a PC port of F-Zero. So, since we’ve already gotten a few SNES games, I’d really love to see a PC version of Jurassic Park with KB&M support and HD textures. Someone needs to work on this one. This will be a dream come true for a lot of Jurassic Park fans.
In September 2026, we shared a lot of unofficial PC ports. So, you can download and enjoy on PC Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link, WET, The Darkness, Spider-Man: Edge of Time, Mercenaries, GTA: Liberty City Stories, Fable 2, Burnout Revenge, Super Mario Strikers, and Lost Odyssey.
And that’s not all of them. We also have the unofficial PC ports of Mario Party 4, Sonic Unleashed, GoldenEye 007, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Silent Hill, and Super Smash Bros. 64. Last month, we shared the unofficial PC ports of Gears of War 2 and Syphon Filter. In August 2026, we shared the PC ports of Diddy Kong Racing and Ace Combat 6. Let’s also not forget the unofficial PC versions of Wave Race 64, Blue Dragon, and Pikmin. Finally, you can download the PC ports of Ninja Gaiden 2, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Tekken 3, and Mario Kart Wii.

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
