Oblivion Remake in Skyrim Skyblivion new feature

Skyblivion, Oblivion Remake in Skyrim, looks better than ever in this latest gameplay video

The modding team behind Skyblivion, a fan remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion in Skyrim, released its fifth dev diary. This new diary features some new gameplay footage from it, and the mod looks now better than ever. So, be sure to check it out.

In this video, the team showcased gameplay systems, a part of the world map, a new city, Ayleid dungeons and much more. And, seriously. I can’t stress enough how great this total conversion mod looks. Its team was able to perfectly mix Oblivion with Skyrim. And yes, Skyblivion looks way better than a heavily modded version of Oblivion.

Skyblivion aims to bring The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion to a new generation of gamers and welcome back longtime fans of the series. This cool mod will work with both Skyrim Legacy Edition and Skyrim Special Edition. It’s one of the most exciting mods out there, showing what modders can do when they put their minds to it. And, even in its WIP state, it looks great.

When Skyblivion comes out, you’ll be able to pick and choose what parts you want to install. You can decide to install things like Landscaping, Interiors, City improvements, and Weapons/Armor. In theory, this will allow the team to finish the mod more quickly. It’s like customizing your game the way you want it.

Skyblivion has been in the works for some time, and its team is aiming to release it in 2025.

Speaking of Skyrim, here are some other big fan expansions for it. Wyrmstooth is one of them, adding new quests and dungeons to the game. This other mod brings elements from The Witcher games into SkyrimDragon Hall Tavern is a huge 2GB mod that adds quests, new places, an arena, and more. Then there’s  Land of VominhemApotheosis and Legacy of the Dragonborn. Don’t forget to also check out this Castlevania-inspired mod. And that’s not all. Skyrim has other mods that do lots of cool stuff. This Call of Duty Mod adds to the game 12 new fully functional weapons from it. Then we have this mod that adds to Skyrim over 7000 voiced lines via AI. There is also this mod that adds to the game The Witcher 3 Ciri/Geralt Voices. Another cool mod is this one that adds destructible objects to the game. You can also download this mod that makes NPCs smarter, enabling dynamic AI and allowing them to seek cover.  Oh, and let’s also not forget this mod that adds unlimited dynamic light sources, as well as this mod that introduces a dynamic sanity system. 1. I am so tired hearing about all these proof-of-concept mods. Does any of them get released ever? Other wise, why care

    1. Skyblivion isn’t a “proof of concept”. It’s a long-term project to remake The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion as a total conversion mod for Skyrim. Oblivion happened to be a larger game with more to do than Skyrim, plus it had an expansion pack with its own unique map. I don’t know if you’re aware of this, but it’s not abnormal for a game development studio with hundreds of full time employees to spend 4 years working on a game. A team of volunteer modders aren’t going to be able to do it as quickly. It could take several more years before the mod is finally at the point where it is playable enough for a public beta.

      1. You are stating the obvious.

My point is that mods like this should be on the news when they are ready. It’s too early to try this out

  2. Ever since I heard of that project ages ago, I’ve always been annoyed by the extreme blur.
I hope it doesn’t look like that in-game, or that it can be tweaked.

And yes, Skyblivion looks way better than a heavily modded version of Oblivion.
I mean, the original Oblivion with mods looks more attractive than that to my eyes.
What Skyblivion gets is the slightly better and more realistic lighting.

    1. Skyblivion is made in the Skyrim SE engine, which uses Temporal Anti-Aliasing (TAA) by default. If you turn off the Anti-Aliasing then all of that blur goes away. You can use ReShade to inject SMAA, CMAA2, or even FXAA (with the subpix set to zero) and get good quality Anti-Aliasing for Skyrim SSE without the blur and ghosting of the TAA.
