AMD’s Developer Summit will begin shortly, and we’ve already got some interesting news for you. A couple of days ago, Square Enix stated that it would support AMD’s Mantle, though we had no official word on Thief supporting it. Well, we just got a confirmation. And it is gone. One of the features that frustrated a lot of Thief fans is no longer available in the upcoming reboot of this classic title. As it was revealed on EIDOS Montreal’s latest Q&A, Thief will no longer support an XP system due to the backlash it received. That’s the spirit EIDOS Montreal. Square Enix has released the first gameplay trailer for its Unreal Engine 3-powered first-person stealth title that is based on one of our favourite series, Thief. In this gameplay trailer, we get our first in-game look at Garrett’s hideout, the dark alleys of the City, and our old friend Basso. Square Enix has released the Gamescom 2013 trailer of Thief, in which the japanese publisher revealed the game’s release date. This new Thief title, that is powered by Unreal Engine 3, is scheduled for a February 25th, 2014, release on PC, PS3, X360, Xbox One and PS4. Thief is being developed by EIDOS Montreal, the studio behind the critically acclaimed Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and promises to be as a good refreshed tile (to the game’s gameplay mechanics) as Human Revolution was. SEGA and Square Enix have released some new E3 screenshots for Relic’s Company of Heroes 2 and EIDOS Montreal’s Thief. Company of Heroes 2 looks great, and the same can be said about the new Thief title. Company of Heroes 2 is coming out exclusively on the PC, while Thief is coming to the PC and next-gen consoles. Square Enix has released the E3 2013 trailer for the fourth part of the Thief series. Thief is being developed by the same team who was responsible for Deus Ex: Human Revolution and is planned for a 2014 release on PC, PS4 and XBOne. The game is powered by Epic’s Unreal Engine 3 and the PC version will be handled by Nixxes. And as you’d expect, this E3 trailer does not reveal much about its gameplay mechanics.
