Oculus Quest standalone VR headset is as powerful as last-gen consoles PS3 and Xbox 360

Oculus has announced a new standalone VR headset called Oculus Quest. Oculus Quest is an all-in-one VR gaming system, meaning that – and contrary to Oculus Rift – you won’t need a PC system in order to play its VR titles. John Carmack Will Receive BAFTA’s Fellowship Award

John Carmack is a man that was criticized by a lot of PC gamers when RAGE was being developed for both PC and consoles. Yes, the man responsible for id Software’s engines did state some bizarre things when X360 and PS3 were out, however we can all agree that he was incredibly influential and that he played a critical role in establishing the PC as a vital gaming platform, especially when it came to first-person shooters. Today is Doom’s 20th anniversary and Wired has a long interview with John Carmack about this legendary FPS title. At the end of the interview, Wired asked John what was going on with Doom 4 and as most would expect, John did not reveal much.
