DICE and Electronic Arts have released a new trailer for Battlefield 4, showcasing some of the features that will be supported by Frostbite 3. Battlefield 4 promises to give players the freedom to do more and be more for an unrivalled entertainment experience, and will feature dynamic destructible environments. Battlefield 4 will be also a seminal moment for the Battlefield series as more multiplayer game design elements are incorporated into the single-player campaign. In single-player, gamers will experience huge environments, a playground of destruction, access to an arsenal of vehicles and the ability to direct squad mates. Enjoy! The alpha testing phase of Battlefield 4 is underway and as you’d expect, some gamers have already leaked a couple of gameplay videos from it. This alpha testing features ‘un-textured’ environments and is packed with visuals similar to those of the leaked MP screenshots of BF4; screenshots that were leaked a week or so ago. E3 is over but Battlefield fans can look forward to even more news about DICE’s upcoming title. According to an email we got, the alpha testing phase of Battlefield 4 will start later today, and Electronic Arts has released the minimum specs for this alpha build. According to those specs, Battlefield 4’s alpha build won’t support Windows 8 or 32bit OS systems. We don’t know whether the final build will have these restrictions, but we do know that DICE wanted to release games that would be exclusive to 64-bit OS systems. Well, we all knew this was going to happen. Battlefield 4 looks interesting, however it will follow BF3’s route. In other words, expect a lot of DLC packs, a Season Pass, and no modding tools. The later was confirmed by DICE general manager, Karl-Magnus Troedsson, who told PCGamer that DICE will not release any SDK for its upcoming shooter. Electronic Arts held an E3 2013 analyst call, in which it revealed some new information about the reboot of Mirror’s Edge. According to EA Labels president Frank Gibeau (and spotted by NeoGAF‘s Nirolak), this Mirror’s Edge game won’t be a shooter, will have more of Faith who won’t be constantly running from here and there, and could not happen on current or older generation platforms (excluding the PC of course). Electronic Arts has released a gameplay video for its upcoming racer, Need for Speed Rivals. This new Need for Speed title is powered by the Frostbite 3 engine, meaning that we can kiss those annoying stutter issues – that were present in the previous part of the series – goodbye. Well okay, we already knew that DICE would showcase Battlefield 4 on the PC, but we now have some evidence to back these claims. Yesterday, DICE revealed an image from the PC that would be running Battlefield 4. And today, during the MP mode that was demoed at EA’s conference we saw some of the devs playing with keyboard+mouse, indicating that EA was showing off the PC version of their title.
