In an interview with StrategyInformer, EIDOS Montreal’s Stephane Roy revealed that the PC version of the upcoming Thief game won’t be a mere port or a copy of its console brother. According to Roy, the PC plays entirely different – thanks to its keyboard + mouse combo – and EIDOS Montreal will do its best to support this particular control scheme. PlayStationAccess has posted a behind-the-scenes video for the new Thief game. This new game will be published by Square Enix and is being developed by the same team that was behind Deus Ex: Human Revolution, EIDOS Montreal. According to the development team, this new Thief will respect the classic title but will also be adapted to today’s expectations. It will be interesting to see whether EIDOS Montreal will be able to offer us a quality game similar to Human Revolution. Square Enix and EIDOS Montreal were planning to release the announement trailer of Thief later today. Unfortunately for them – and fortunately for all of us – the trailer has been leaked and you can view it below. Make sure to check it as soon as possible as Square Enix may take this link down. Although the trailer does not showcase any gameplay footage, we are pretty sure that all of its assets are from the game itself, meaning that Thief could look as good as this trailer. Square Enix has released a teaser trailer for the new Thief game that is being developed by EIDOS Montreal. As with most teasers, this does not show anything that will wow you, despite the fact that it is made from in-engine footage. According to the publisher, the reveal trailer will be released on April 2nd, so stay tuned for more. A new multiplayer video (courtesy of VG247) for Tomb Raider surfaced today, and we have to say that we were a bit disappointed with what we saw as it is pretty clear that this mode is a complete rip-off from the MP mode of Naughty Dogs’ PS3 exclusive title, Uncharted 2 (and 3). Not only that, but the animations that were showcased were awful – to say the least. This is really surprising, considering that EIDOS Montreal is developing the MP mode of Tomb Raider. An interesting video popped up on YouTube, featuring Stephen Shellen who was the voice behind David Sarif in Deus Ex: Human Revolution. According to the video, Shellen believes the Illuminati are coming for him, and his time is limited before he dies for real. Apparently, the Illuminati are spying on him at present, and he is due to die on July 30th 2012. We’ve seen countless of clever viral marketing tricks and this seems like one. Could Square Enix and EIDOS be gearing up for a new Deus Ex: Human Revolution DLC or a new Deus Ex game? After all, GamesCom is in a few days, meaning that this could very well be a hint for an upcoming announcement. Or is this simply Stephen trolling the gaming community?
