Deep Silver released today the third chapter of Metro: Last Light’s Ranger survival guide, in which the company showcases the weapons that will be featured in this FPS title, as well as its inventory system. Metro: Last Light is currently planned for a May 17th release on PC, PS3 and X360, and promises to push the graphical boundaries on the PC front, with an upgraded and better optimized engine than the one featured in Metro 2033. Deep Silver released today the second chapter of Metro: Last Light’s Ranger survival guide which aims to prepare the player against the hostile inhabitants of the Metro, both human and mutant. While deadly creatures control the desolate Moscow wastelands, the human survivors, having splintered into extremist factions, gangs of bandits, and the order of Rangers, try to maintain a hold on the tunnels of the Metro. Deep Silver and 4A Games announced – via the game’s official FB page – that Metro: Last Light will be receiving a new DLC called the Ranger Mode. This DLC will add a new difficulty mode, a new weapon and 100 in-game military grade bullets. And no, we’re not joking around. Truth be told, this DLC was also offered for Metro 2033, however we find it ironic that Deep Silver decided to offer this ‘hardcore’ difficulty mode as a DLC. Gamespot has posted a 10 minutes gameplay footage from Metro: Last Light, showcasing a new area called ‘The Swamp’. Our guess is that this gameplay footage will be available during GDC (or PAX East), and it has scenes from a previous leaked gameplay footage we posted a while ago. Deep Silver has released a new trailer for 4A Games’ Metro: Last Light, showcasing the factions that will be present in it. Metro: Last Light is scheduled for a May 17th release on PC, X360 and PS3, and its plot was written by Dmitry Glukhovsky, acclaimed author of the novel Metro 2033 which inspired the creation of both video games. It will be interesting to see whether Metro: Last Light will be as demanding as its predecessor, and whether high-end GPUs will be able to run it smoothly. Enjoy!
